I was praying for a brother in Christ—someone who has been crying out for attention on social media, posting about “church hurt,” leadership disappointment, and rejection. In the middle of the prayer, the Lord stopped me and began revealing the real issue.

The Spirit of God began to show me that far too many people serving in ministry today are lending their gifts and talents for the wrong reasons. They don’t actually want to worship God. They don’t want to usher people into His presence.

They want notoriety.
They want recognition.
They want influence.
They want a platform.

Their ministry isn’t about God’s glory—it’s about their performance. And because of that, they expect people to treat them like royalty, to reverence them, to validate them, to applaud them, and to keep them emotionally afloat.

But the Lord said this clearly:

The frustration they are experiencing is not persecution.
It’s idolatry.
It’s disobedience.
It’s self‑seeking ambition dressed up in false humility, church clothes, and cologne.

They are not being crushed by the church.
They are being crushed by the weight of the throne they built for themselves.
