One thing I’m struggling with is trying to make people feel comfortable right now while sometimes not being able to socially distance. Sometimes it’s just easier for me to fix your necklace, adjust your collar, or pull your hair behind your shoulder while you maintain the pose. But whatever, I still make the magic happen!

Are you to busy to leave the ? Are you at home with your kids and can’t leave for a headshot that day? Maybe you just want to stay home and keep your yoga pants on. I am always looking to ad value for my clients. I will come to you, give you some advice on what to wear, how to style your hair, and help you take out the trash... Just kidding on that last one.

Not everyone is at ease in front of the camera. Even selfie queens freeze up when they don’t have a screen showing them what they look like before they take their own photo. It takes some comforting conversation beforehand and even during the shoot. Most of the time in the beginning I’m taking pictures that aren’t so flattering and just saying how good someone looks so they can let their guard down.

Sometimes I like to play along when my clients are fishing for compliments. I’m doing as usual and this guy is up next and the first thing he says is “I hope you’re good with Photoshop because I’m not that handsome”. So instead of biting, I say “No I’m not that good. I’m gonna need to hire someone because you are hideous!” 🤣
I laugh, he laughs, and immediately after he is glowing and I get a great shot of him. This is so much more than just taking photos. I’m really trying to be the highlight of your day.

She’s gonna kill me if she sees this.. So she comes in and says “I don’t smile for pictures”. My first thought was “Oh you must not know who your dealing with!”... And this is is her first shot! But after the fun and games we had to get it together.

I actually like the more serious expression in some headshots. If you’re the person who doesn’t smile in photos then don’t smile. But please, no RBF. (Not that that’s what she gave me 😇)
