🌟 There's a new glow in Broad Ripple – and it's 30 feet tall!

We’re thrilled to share that Gavin–Divergence, an LED-lit sculpture by Indiana artist Jason Myers, has officially joined the Broad Ripple landscape!

Located at the intersection of College Avenue and Westfield Boulevard, this striking new installation lights up the heart of our community — quite literally.💡

The sculpture’s customizable lights will shift throughout the year to celebrate the seasons, holidays, and local events. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to join in on the fun — we’ll be sharing more soon on how you can help choose Gavin’s next colors!

This project was made possible through a powerful public–private partnership between Indy Art Center, Broad Ripple Village Association (BRVA), the Penrod Society, and the Birge Family Foundation. We’re so grateful to Jason Myers for bringing his creative vision — and a stunning new work of public art — to Broad Ripple.

🎨 As champions of creativity, connection, and community, we’re excited to see Gavin–Divergence light the way for more public art in the village and beyond.

Here's the Best Time to Have Thanksgiving Dinner

If your group chat has been blowing up with everyone trying to make plans for Thanksgiving, here's what the experts say about the BEST time to have dinner . . .

Earlier is better. According to an associate professor of nutritional medicine at Columbia University, having an earlier Thanksgiving dinner is better for a few reasons.

For one, it's easier to adjust throughout the rest of the day if you overeat at an earlier meal. Plus, having a large meal closer to bedtime can potentially cause reflux issues when you try to go to sleep.

As a general rule, try to give yourself at least three hours between finishing your meal and going to bed.

But . . . moderation is also key. So WHAT you eat and HOW MUCH you eat is just as important as WHEN you eat it.

In other words, if you have a giant Thanksgiving meal with three servings of everything at 2:00 p.m., you're probably going to feel way more uncomfortable than eating just one serving of everything at a 6:00 p.m. dinner

One final tip: Don't skip breakfast. It might seem like a good idea to skip breakfast on Thanksgiving Day, but it can actually do more harm than good.

When you try to "save" all your calories and stomach space for one big meal, it can cause issues with blood sugar levels and indigestion because your stomach is still producing stomach acid.

And you're more likely to overeat once you finally do "break the seal."

It's the End of an Era: The Last Ever U.S. Penny Was Minted Yesterday

If you have any PENNIES buried in your couch . . . under the mess inside your car . . . or in a bucket in your garage . . . you should HOLD ON TO THEM. They may be worth something someday. (???)

Back in February, President Trump directed the Treasury Department to stop producing new pennies. And that's what happened.

Yesterday, the LAST EVER U.S. PENNY was minted in Philadelphia.

The U.S. Mint in Philadelphia has been making pennies since 1793, when they were made of 100% copper. Since 1982, pennies have been made of "copper-plated zinc," which is 97.5% zinc and just 2.5% copper.

Trump said we shouldn't make any more because pennies cost MORE than a penny to produce. That is true. According to the U.S. Mint, each penny actually costs 3.7 cents to make.

BILLIONS of pennies are still in circulation and will remain legal tender, but new ones will no longer be made.

Some businesses are already feeling the shortage, and have started rounding receipts to the nearest five cents, particularly if someone is paying in cash. That's NOT necessarily rounding UP . . . the nearest five cents could be up or down.

Others are requiring exact change.

Even if prices aren't rounded up, there are potential drawbacks, which is why we haven't done it before.

For one, it's another step pushing us toward a cashless society, which not everyone is in favor of . . . especially those who don't deal with credit cards and banks for whatever reason.

Also: Experts say this would cause us to need more NICKELS, which we're also losing money on. According to the Mint, each nickel costs 13.8 cents to make.

The U.S. Mint in Phildadelphia, Pennsylvania, pressed its final one-cent coins as production of the penny ends after 232 years.Fuel your success with Forbes....
