Five Random Facts for Friday from the Smiley Morning Show:

1. This may be the most epic "baseball injury": In the 1990s, there was an MLB player named Glenallen Hill. He played for seven teams, and was . . . decent.

While with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1990, Glenallen had a nightmare about spiders. He tried to run away in the dream, and ended up sleepwalking in real life. He fell through a glass table, and suffered cuts on his toes and elbows, as well as carpet burns on his knees. He spent 20 days on the injured list.

2. The oldest hotel in the world is a hot spring hotel in Japan called Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan. It was founded over 1,300 years ago . . . in 705 A.D.

3. Most kangaroos are left-handed.

4. There's a word for HALF a decade, or five years: It's called a "lustrum." As in: It's hard to believe it's been a lustrum since the pandemic broke out.

5. The Beatles mention a walrus in THREE songs: "Glass Onion", "Come Together", and, of course, "I Am the Walrus". They sure liked walruses?

This weekend's forecast is a warm one for Indiana and the state's parks have several events to enjoy the weather for not a lot of money.

Saturday, Sept. 27 is the last free fishing day of the season for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. On Free Fishing Days, Indiana residents can fish the state's public waters without a fishing license or trout/salmon stamp. However, the department reminds those who take advantage of the free fishing that rules regarding seasons, bag and size limits still apply.

If fishing's not your thing, admission is free to Indiana State Parks, Indiana State Forests and State Recreation Areas where entrance fees are charged on Sunday, Sept. 28.

There are 24 parks, seven small satellite locations, eight reservoirs, two state forest recreation areas and two off-road riding areas in the Indiana State parks system. Click here to find a state park property in your area.

The last Free Fishing Day of the year is Saturday, while park admission is free on Sunday.
