This week we're kicking into low gear as I pushed my way down to East Washington St to sit with this weeks guest, Coryn Hendrix!

coryn hendrix is the current organizer for Board Meeting a skate group for folks in the LGBTQIA+ (and allies) community.

We sat down to talk about skating, ceramics and what true and real fun is. I had a great and peaceful time talking with Coryn and I hope you enjoy as well :)

I was invited to preview Coordinates of Belonging at White River Farm with, my now friend, Braydee.

I was inspired by what was shared with me in regard to ‘why’ and Braydee and I spent around 3 hours talking about a variety of topics from art to Indy. I feel that because of that day I experienced the full breadth of the exhibition. Through the interpersonal interactions surrounded by art I feel that I tapped into the real purpose of COMPANION.

I was inspired to share.

“I’m a he ‘cuz I’m him” - Hang Doan, my guest this week is an out and proud trans man who is one of the coolest people around town.

We sat down at the Spades Park playground to talk about Hang Doan experience as a local content creator, model, artist (Hanibear Shop ), filmmaker and drag king. This is someone who contains multitudes and will not let small failures stop their big dreams.

I really enjoyed talking with Hang and I hope you enjoy listening just as much!

My first BikeParty Indianapolis was Friday. I was blown away by how fun it was and it certainly will not be my last.

Shoutout to hen! the dj at the second stop.

I was gonna do voice over but I couldn’t think of good words.

700-1000 cyclists (who really knows how to count anyway) and like a giant party. Super safe, great vibes and got to connect with a ton of people I know from around town. When they say it’s a rolling third space they mean it, promise.

Monday morning I got a call from my boss letting me know she was letting me go. Time is a flat circle 😂

Anyway I’m doing alright but if you have ever felt you’ve gotten value from Third Space Indy in any way and you are financially able please consider sending some support my way :)

Third Space Indy the podcast takes around ~25 hours of my life per week to produce from beginning to end and that doesn’t count the other random loosely educational content I put out.

This week I got to hang out with my neighbor (basically).

is the president of which has it's largest event YET coming up this weekend.

Hannah Hadley and I sat down to talk about what it means to run an inclusive gay market, rocking out with , and a little bit about fiber art.

Really enjoyed spending time at the Indy Arts Center listening to birds with Hannah and I hope you do too.

I would like to remind you that "third space" has been co-opted as a marketing term. It doesn't 'just' mean small cozy space, its a space where you can go to work with your neighbor to work with them to create a better life for both of you. Conversation is key because of where is leads not just for yapping sake.

Ray Oldenberg's ideal vision for third spaces were based in political action and collective vision for mutually creating our world.

So go out and build true community with your neighbors and learn to advocate for each other. You need it now now than ever.
