🍓🍓We had a strawberry filled time today 🍓🍓

Since we’re still on a strawberry kick this month, it’s only right that we bring it to our campers!

Today they created their strawberry themed slime! Their slime was pinkish/red colored, sprinkled, strawberry scented, glittered down you hear me!!

Hands-on activities like slime making encourage creativity, sensory exploration, and fine motor skill development. Did I mention FUN?!

Nothing says summer like laughter, creativity, and a little strawberry-inspired squishiness! 🍓☀️

As rain & thunderstorms are approaching, we still had the chance to craft it up today!

Campers got a little soapy and stepped into the role of mini makers and created their very own beauty bars 🫧🫧🫧!

Each camper had the opportunity to express their creativity while learning a fun hands-on skill. Activities like soap making encourage creativity, build confidence, strengthen fine motor skills, and give children the joy of creating something they can actually use and share with others.

Did you know Craft Connections travel to apartment communities as well?!

Apartment residents deserve just as much fun as anyone else so why not bring it to their very own clubhouse! Community is built through connection, and sometimes the simplest way to bring neighbors together is around a craft table.

I love bringing creative art experiences directly into apartment communities because creativity shouldn’t require leaving home.

🎨 Why creative enrichment in apartment communities is needed:

• Encourages neighbors to meet and build meaningful connections
• Reduces stress and supports mental wellness
• Provides screen-free, hands-on experiences for all ages
• Promotes self-expression and confidence

Today’s campers turned everyday created mini junk journals. Boys included! From colorful papers and stickers to unique embellishments, each journal became a reflection of its creator, proving that creativity has no limits!

A huge thank you to the The Y of Greater Indianapolis and the surrounding YMCA locations for welcoming Craft Connections into your summer camps. It has been such a joy bringing creative art experiences to campers across the area and witnessing the energy, excitement, and confidence that come alive around the craft table.

Summer art enrichment is about so much more than making projects. It provides youth with opportunities to:

✨ Strengthen fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
✨ Build confidence through creative expression
✨ Practice problem-solving and decision-making
✨ Encourage imagination and storytelling
✨ Foster friendships and teamwork

Summer camps are one of my favorite places to bring creativity to life. ☀️🎨

The sunshine, the laughter, the friendships being formed, and the excitement that comes with trying something new. Summer camps are more than just keeping kids busy but they’re spaces where creativity, confidence, and connection come together.

I love bringing the creative art experience directly to camps because it matches the spirit of summer so perfectly; fun, colorful, hands-on, and full of joy.

Today, Craft Connections had the pleasure of coming out to CAFE’s Nature Camp at Broganville's FARM, where creativity and nature came together in the best way! Surrounded by curious goats, friendly llamas, and the beauty of the farm, campers enjoyed painting and decorating their own birdhouses while embracing the joy of hands-on creativity.

Experiences like these encourage imagination, strengthen fine motor skills, foster a connection with nature, and remind us that creativity can happen anywhere. From crafting among the animals to creating homes for future feathered visitors, it was a day filled with learning, laughter, and memories.

Thank you to CAFE’s for inviting us to be part of such a unique experience. Bringing creativity and community together whether in schools, camps, retirement communities, or right in the middle of a farm is what we love most 🎨🪄!

I wanted to share one of the talented residents at a retirement community that I go to, art work. I just want to boost on her creativity. Artistic expression doesn’t have an age limit. I just love how I bring a visual to our monthly sip & paints and she goes above and beyond with her beautiful artwork. Sessions are only an hour and she just creates magic within that time frame. I’m super impressed and my crafters heart is happy.

There’s so much more to crafting. It helps support fine and gross motor skills, encourages problem-solving, promotes self-expression, and provides opportunities for connection and joy.

Most importantly, it allows the older adults to continue nurturing their creativity rather than losing a part of themselves that still has so much to share.

Growing older should never mean growing out of creating 🎨🪄!

Another wonderful afternoon of creativity and connection 🎨🪄!

Each month, I have the pleasure of hosting a sip and paint experience for this amazing retirement community. This month theme was 4th of July since I’d see them after the holiday.

It’s always a joy to see residents express themselves, share tea (literally), and enjoy the many benefits from creating. Art brings relaxation and self-expression to building meaningful connections.

Grateful to provide creative art enrichment to such a special group!
