Hoppy Trails Tastes: Sip or Skip Today I'm pouring Peach Cobbler from Martin House Brewing Company. This one is a sour peach beer with graham cracker and lactose coming in at 8% ABV. Its a sweet and smooth drinker that will sneak up on you. As with all of the Martin House beers, this one is definitely a sip!

Looking back on my whirlwind week in Texas, these were the beers that made it home with me. I spent the first half of the week in Lubbock for work but managed to squeeze in a few local breweries. Work wrapped up a little earlier than planned so that allowed me some extra time in Dallas and Ft. Worth. I made it to a few good breweries but Martin House Brewing Company in Ft. Worth was my favorite the trip. They had a ton of great beers to choose from but I will cover those in another post. I took in a Rangers game Friday night, making it stadium #24 in my quest to see them all. I also paid my respects to some musical icons. Lunch at Terry Black's was the highlight of the trip. Definitely some of the best bbq I've ever had! Always love visiting the Lone Star State!

Hoppy Trails: Sip or Skip Today's pour is Alien Church from Tired Hands Brewing Company out of Ardmore, PA. I have no funny tie in with the name so I'll just say go and get ya some because its delicious! Had to pour it in the revolutionary war themed musketball glass from BenShot because the brewery is from the Philadelphia area and I'm a history nerd!

Hoppy Trails: Sip or Skip Barn Town Brewing Special Edition. Today I'm sipping on Fair Nerds, a Nerds candy inspired sour and it is crazy good! Its a definite must try for all the candy flavored sour fans!

Mail day! I received a thank you package from a co-worker friend from New Jersey. He sent me some of his favorites from his local area and I can't wait to give these a try! How many of these have you tried?

I travel to Des Moines several times a year for the better part of 15 years, so that makes visiting new breweries pretty challenging. I was only in town 3 days this past trip but I made the most of it, trying out a few places I'd yet to visit. Reclaimed Rails was my favorite, look for a brewery spotlight on it soon!

I come to Des Moines, Iowa a few times a year and Confluence Brewing Company is always a place I visit on those trips. They have so much variety and their beers are always top notch! This visit was no exception! Make sure you stop in...they have a beer for every taste!

Hoppy Trails Sip of the Day: In honor of my first born, Hannah, you gave me the greatest and most rewarding job I could have ever asked for...Dad. ❤️💕❤️
Thanks Exile Brewing Co. for a great beer and a reminder of the greatest gift a man can have...to be called Dad!

Airports are a magical place where regular time doesn't exist and you can order a beer with breakfast and no one bats an eye. Granted at this point I've been up 7 hours so while the clock on the wall said morning, my body clock was saying it was late afternoon. Saint Arnold Brewing Company Summer Pils and and the brisket hash while on a 3 hour layover in Houston hit the spot!

One last brewery from my 2 week Indiana/Ohio/Pennsylvania trip before I head back out on my next adventure. Daredevil Brewing Co came highly recommend...and it did not disappoint! There were quite a few good options on tap so a flight was in order. They were all tasty but the Berliner POG was the winner. A great blend of fruity, sour, and sweet. I LOVE a good smoky beer so I saved their Rauchbier for a full pour and paired it with their pretzel (which was a great choice as well). The beer was solid but not quite smoky enough for my preferences. Daredevil is a cool spot for a drink and is just down the street from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Definitely check it out if you're in the area!
