We start when puppies are about 5-6 weeks old putting them in their own crate to sleep at night so that they are adjusted to being in the crate when they go to their families. This makes the transition much easier for the puppy and the family. Structure and discipline is very important from day one so that they can get off to a great start to being a loved family member.
