My Honest Review of Liberian Songs I Listened to This Week
This week, I took time to really listen not just vibe but analyze some of the latest Liberian releases. Here’s my honest breakdown.
Anitram – Served EP is a solid body of work, especially for anyone navigating love or searching for something real. The project carries emotion and intention.
However, the first track lacked the creative punch it needed. Instead of the regular talk-style delivery, a stronger rap verse would have elevated the energy and made the intro more dynamic and memorable.
On the fourth track, “Love,” the collaboration choice felt off. A stronger feature from artists like Will Flash or CIC could have enhanced the song’s depth and replay value. Unfortunately, the feature didn’t deliver as expected and weakened the overall impact.
That said, the production across the EP deserves praise. The producers did a commendable job shaping the sound and maintaining cohesion throughout the project.
Overall Rating: 3.5/10
Teddyride – “Deh Jay” is arguably one of Teddyride’s weaker releases this year. While producer Forkpa delivered a strong instrumental, the lyrical ex*****on didn’t match the quality of the beat.
The production carried the song, but the pen game lacked sharpness and creativity.
Pen Game Rating: 2.5/10
Fazari ft. Big Baby – “Wicked Ex” had potential. Fazari delivered some strong lines and moments that stood out. However, the rap contribution from Big Baby fell short and disrupted the overall chemistry of the track.
There were flashes of brilliance, but inconsistency held it back.
Rating: 4.5/10
Mr. Church x Tuss “Liberian Girl”
Mr. Church delivered one of his best performances (or freestyles) this year. His pen game was sharp, confident, and intentional. The delivery matched the bars, and the overall energy felt authentic and polished.
Credit where it’s due this project shows growth and lyrical maturity.
Rating: 9.5/10
