We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of David Sanborn. He was a true inspiration to us at Jazz Line, to the point that we can barely muster the words to appropriately eulogize him. Though, we can fully agree with Walter Beasley's description of his impact on the genre -

We're saddened to report that one of the true legends of The Organ, Dr. Lonnie Smith, has passed away at the age of 79 years old. Rest In Peace, Doc!

It turns out Hurricane Harvey is a jazz fan! Unfortunately the remnants of the hurricane, which devastated the city of Houston last week, decided to pay a visit to the Detroit Jazz Fest, forcing organizers to cancel the final hours of the event.
