Anxiety can feel loud. It can fill your mind with worries, make your body feel on edge, and leave you feeling exhausted.

But anxiety doesn’t have to be in charge.

Remember: Progress isn’t about never feeling anxious. It’s about learning that you can handle anxiety without letting it run your life.

Here are five simple, research-supported ways to care for your mind and body:

Prioritize Sleep
Aim for consistent, quality sleep. A well-rested brain is better equipped to manage stress and anxious thoughts.

Move Your Body Daily
Take a walk, stretch, lift weights, or do yoga. Even 20–30 minutes of movement can help reduce anxiety.

Slow Your Breathing
When anxiety rises, slow your breath. Try inhaling for 4 seconds and exhaling for 6 seconds for a few minutes to help calm your nervous system.

Challenge Your Thoughts
Ask yourself: “Is this thought based on facts or fear?” Looking at the evidence can help loosen anxiety’s grip.

Do One Brave Thing Every Day
Anxiety grows when we avoid what scares us. Confidence grows when we take one small step toward what matters, even if it feels uncomfortable.

You don’t have to wait until anxiety disappears to start living the life you want. You can learn skills to navigate anxiety with more calm, confidence, and self-compassion.

I’m excited to share that I’ll be part of Emberlight Festival’s panel discussion, The Fire Within, on July 11th in Ironwood, Michigan!

This performance infusion will include a conversation with a group of 5 incredible artists as we explore creativity, purpose, and the joy of pursuing our creative passions.

As a therapist, author, and someone who deeply values personal growth, I’m looking forward to hearing the stories that shaped each artist’s journey and discussing how creativity continues to enrich our lives through every season.

If you’re in the area, I’d love to see you there! This is a free event and a wonderful opportunity to connect with the arts and community.

Big news: Jessica Graham Counseling PLLC has a new office in Edina!

And when your toughest critics give the new office a thumbs up... I’d call that a win ;)

I am also now practicing with Ervin Counseling and Orka Health & Wellness. This allows me to offer both in-person and telehealth therapy sessions while accepting additional insurance plans, making counseling more accessible for the individuals and families I serve.

As a small business owner, growth happens through connections and referrals. If you know someone in Minnesota who is struggling with stress, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, life transitions, or simply needs extra support, I would be grateful if you shared my name with them.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. I’m excited for this next chapter and look forward to continuing to help more individuals and families heal, grow, and thrive.

I had the opportunity to be featured by Voyage Minnesota.

One of the questions they asked was about my journey into counseling, coaching, writing, and the work I do today.

It made me pause and reflect on how many unexpected twists, challenges, and opportunities have shaped this path.

When I first started, I never imagined where this journey would lead. Yet every step has reinforced what I believe most deeply: healing, growth, and meaningful connection have the power to change lives.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my story and a little more about the heart behind my work.

For years, birthdays brought me more dread than celebration.

Not because of the number itself, but because aging often felt tied to loss.

Then I had a conversation with an artist in her seventies who described these as the best years of her life. She spoke about the freedom, confidence, and wisdom that came with age, and it completely shifted my perspective.

What if aging isn’t something to fear?
What if it’s evidence of a life fully lived?

I shared more of this reflection in my latest blog post. Read it through the link in my bio. 🤍

Hi there! I’m Jessica, owner of Jessica Graham Counseling PLLC.

I’m a therapist in the Twin Cities who helps adults, teens, young adults, parents, and individuals navigate life’s challenges, heal, and move forward with confidence and purpose. I’m also the author of the children’s book The Love Inside, which was inspired by my passion for helping people build self-love and emotional resilience from an early age.

Beyond my work, I’m a mom of three who is balancing kids’ activities, family life, and growing a business I love. You’ll often find me out for a walk, spending time in nature, reading, or finding new ways to grow personally and professionally.

Therapy is what I do, but compassionate, creative, hardworking, and loyal are some of the qualities that make me who I am. I’m truly grateful to be in this season of life, serving others while continuing to learn and grow myself.

If you’re here following along, supporting my work, or trusting me to be part of your growth journey, thank you. It means more than you know. 🤍
