Hello,
At the meeting on Tuesday afternoon, the deadline was set for the first edition of the semester. Here are the due dates for stories and printing.
* 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 -- All stories will be emailed to me at [email protected]
* Thursday, Oct. 13 -- Editing and prep day with some publication layout
* Friday, Oct. 14, Layout begins in full swing
* Monday, Oct 17, Tuesday, Oct. 18 -- Layout and publication editing
Our goal is to send the publication to the printer by Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning of that week. We hope to have a printed edition by Thursday or Friday for distribution.
So that is the goal. We will also be meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 28 (Tomorrow) in the office to discuss the publication with staffers who could not attend the meeting today.
Thus far, here are articles we have kind of committed to:
* Dorm Recipes -- Paige
* Dorm Manager Profile -- Tracey
* Canadian Corner -- Tracey
* Student survey on Halloween -- Paige
* Cosmo class visit -- Christine
* Thank-you editorial and other editorial takes-- Christine/Jen
* What gets me column -- Jen
* Cross country -- Lief?
* Coverage of art show -- Tracey?
We will need a few more articles to fill out a four-page tab. So feel free to submit your work -- photos, stories etc.
These are just a few ideas generated in the past few days. Please, feel free to write about just about anything. If you need an idea/assignment, I will give you one. here are a few suggestions.
* Any campus event article and photograph -- karaoke night, bowling, etc.
* Addition about the automotive department
* Story about the new Trio coordinator
* Issues facing students
* Previews for sports teams or even game coverage
* Poetry, art submissions
We're open to about anything. So please feel free to email me your work.
