Often a Madhaus visitor but never here. King of New York was banned in the US until 1972. This scene feature Michael Chapin, one a Charlie's 11 children from n 4 marriages which beats me. Memorable scene. Charlie lived overseas for many years passport revoked as basically a political prisoner. He returned, briefly as I recall, to accept a lifetime achievement academy award.
Charlie along with Erol Flynn and Mary Pickford flipped the bird to The Suits who thought because they had money they should take control of content from the artists who knew better. The three said f**k off, we will start our own studio on behalf of the artists who are not as successful as we three. The result was an studio for artists called appropriately United Artists which exists to this day. An example of the power of Unity of the Oppressed and an example to all of us on this day.of particulars.
