My New Book Designated Disrupter: Trump and Other Unlikely Agents of Revival is the #2 "Hot New Release" in "Church & State Religious Studies" on Amazon! Thank you! ( https://amzn.to/3Yu5Nlb ) Read the Q & A below.
One of the great truths of Scripture is that God consistently chooses the least expected people to accomplish His greatest purposes. He used Moses, who doubted himself; David, who was overlooked; and even Cyrus, a pagan king, to restore His people. That same pattern is repeating in our time.
In Designated Disrupter: Trump and Other Unlikely Agents of Revival (Charisma House/FrontLine, January 6, 2026), I explore how God is again using unconventional voices—figures like Donald Trump, Jordan Peterson, the late Charlie Kirk, Jonathan Roumie, and countless others—to shake culture awake. Some of these people wouldn’t be considered “religious leaders,” yet they’re provoking conversations about faith, morality, and truth on massive global platforms.
These aren’t accidents. God appoints certain people—what I call designated disrupters—to challenge deception, confront corruption, and reawaken a sleeping Church. They’re breaking through the walls that have separated the sacred from the secular, and they’re reminding us that revival often begins outside of our comfort zones.
Billy Graham once told me that America is living in her “Nineveh moment.” I believe that prophetic warning has never been more relevant. We’re standing at a national crossroads—morally, spiritually, and politically. We’ve drifted from biblical foundations, and yet God, in His mercy, is still extending grace.
In the Bible, when Jonah finally obeyed God and warned Nineveh, the people repented, and judgment was delayed for more than a century. America today faces a similar choice. God is calling us to repent and return to Him before it’s too late.
In Designated Disrupter, I draw prophetic parallels between Jehu—the bold reformer who tore down Jezebel’s altars—and modern figures who are confronting the idols of our age: corruption, moral confusion, and the worship of power. God raises up these disrupters not because they’re perfect, but because they’re willing. Through them, He’s giving us one more chance to turn back before the window of grace closes.
This isn’t just a book about others—it’s a call for every believer to take their place on the front lines of faith. We’re not called to sit in the bleachers and watch history happen. God is inviting each of us to partner with Him in shaping it.
A designated disrupter isn’t just a president or a celebrity. It’s a mother praying for her children, a teacher standing for truth in a public classroom, a pastor preaching the gospel without compromise. Every believer can be used to bring awakening wherever God has planted them.
What we’re witnessing now—the revivals on college campuses, the rise of faith-based films, the courage of pastors and influencers—is only the beginning of a global shaking. The question is: will we respond to the call? God is raising an army of reformers, and it’s time for each of us to take our post.
Designated Disrupter Q & A
1. What do you mean by “Designated Disrupter,” and how is God using unconventional people?
A “designated disrupter” is someone whom God hand-selects to interrupt the plans of the enemy and redirect the course of history. These people don’t usually fit religious expectations—they’re often bold, controversial, and even rough around the edges. But that’s exactly why God uses them: they’re fearless.
Throughout Scripture, God has done this repeatedly. He chose Gideon, who saw himself as the least of his tribe; David, a young shepherd; and Esther, an orphan in exile. In our modern era, He’s using business leaders, entertainers, and political figures to speak truths that pierce through cultural noise.
When we look at someone like Donald Trump, regardless of personal opinions, we can’t ignore that his presidency disrupted global systems, exposed corruption, and opened doors for faith leaders to once again speak into the public square. That’s not random—it’s divine orchestration. These disrupters are shaking institutions, and through that shaking, God is revealing Himself in ways the world can no longer ignore.
2. What do you say to critics who question whether God could use controversial figures?
It’s a fair question, and it’s one I hear often. But the Bible is full of examples that answer it for us. God rarely calls the perfect; He perfects the called. Think of King David—a man after God’s own heart who also failed deeply. Or Paul, who persecuted Christians before becoming one of history’s greatest apostles.
When we study revival history, we find the same pattern. God uses imperfect vessels to deliver perfect truth. The focus isn’t on the person’s flaws but on God’s ability to work through them. That’s what grace looks like in motion.
I believe these figures—whether they’re political leaders, commentators, or artists—are being positioned to prepare the way for something greater. Their boldness stirs conversation, their courage breaks complacency, and their influence helps carry biblical truth into places the Church can’t always reach on its own. The point isn’t to idolize them—it’s to recognize God’s fingerprints in unexpected places.
3. You write that America is in its “Nineveh Moment.” What does that mean?
The story of Nineveh is one of the most hopeful in Scripture. It shows that even when a nation is on the brink of destruction, repentance can change everything. God sent Jonah with a warning—but also with mercy. When the people repented, judgment was delayed for over a hundred years.
Right now, America faces a similar moral and spiritual crisis. We’ve legalized what God forbids, normalized what once brought shame, and silenced voices of truth in the name of tolerance. But despite all of that, God’s heart is still for redemption.
Our “Nineveh moment” means we’re at a spiritual tipping point. If we humble ourselves, pray, and seek His face, we could see the greatest move of God in our nation’s history. But if we continue down the path of pride and rebellion, the consequences will be severe. God’s mercy is available, but it requires repentance.
4. Can you share a story from your research that moved you?
One of the most powerful moments during my research came when I interviewed young people who experienced Baptize America. They told me there was no celebrity preacher, no lights, no big production—just the raw presence of God in their baptism.
Students who had been apathetic or even skeptical found themselves overjoyed with the experience of baptism and God’s forgiveness of their sins.
I also spoke with leaders in Hollywood who privately shared that they’ve come to faith after years of searching for meaning. Some of them are now producing films and shows that carry biblical themes to millions. These are subtle but profound shifts happening beneath the surface.
Those stories reminded me that revival doesn’t start in headlines—it starts in hearts. It begins when people encounter the living God personally, and that’s what we’re seeing more and more across the culture.
5. Do you think recent events like The Return, the Asbury Revival and Baptize America are signs of a larger awakening?
Absolutely. I see them as the early tremors of a spiritual earthquake. The Return: National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance in Washington, D.C.—which gathered hundreds of thousands for repentance—wasn’t just another event; it was a prophetic call for America to turn back to God. Then, not long after, we saw the Asbury Revival sweep across campuses, drawing students who weren’t looking for religion but who encountered the presence of the Holy Spirit.
Last summer, Baptize California and Baptize America drew tens of thousands of people to beaches, rivers, campuses and churches to get baptized and dedicate their lives to the Lord.
These aren’t isolated incidents—they’re connected. God is stirring hearts in every generation. It’s happening in churches, in homes, in podcasts, even in Hollywood. I believe we’re witnessing the opening chapters of the next Great Awakening. But awakenings don’t stay confined to revival meetings—they spill over into culture, government, and every part of society. That’s what Designated Disrupter is all about: the awakening that transforms nations.
6. How can everyday believers become “designated disrupters”?
You don’t need a platform or a pulpit to make an impact. What God is looking for is obedience. Start by asking Him, “Lord, what’s my assignment?” For some, it’s raising godly children. For others, it’s influencing local politics, mentoring youth, or standing for truth in your workplace.
A designated disrupter is someone who refuses to compromise in a culture that demands silence. You carry the light of Christ into dark places simply by living differently—by speaking truth, walking in integrity, and showing love in a world that’s grown cold.
When believers understand that revival starts with them—right where they are—the ripple effect can change cities, nations, and generations. You don’t have to be famous to be faithful; you just have to be available.
7. How has your background as a journalist influenced how you write about prophecy and revival?
My background as a journalist at the Los Angeles Daily News and other newspapers, as well as Charisma magazine and Charisma Media, has trained me to approach every story with evidence, curiosity, and truth-seeking. For decades, I’ve reported on politics, world events, and faith movements. That experience has shown me that what happens in the natural often mirrors what’s unfolding in the spiritual.
In Designated Disrupter, I combine investigative reporting with biblical discernment. I analyze events, study patterns, interview insiders, and then ask the deeper question: What is God doing through this? It’s a prophetic-journalistic approach—grounded in facts, but guided by faith.
That’s also what makes this book different. It’s not speculative; it’s evidential. It documents how God is already at work through world leaders, media figures, and believers in every sphere. My role is simply to connect the dots and sound the trumpet.
8. What do you hope readers take away from this book?
Hope—and urgency. We are not powerless spectators in the last days; we’re chosen participants. God has called each of us to stand for truth, to intercede for our nation, and to influence our culture.
I want readers to walk away realizing that revival is not coming someday—it’s already beginning. The question is whether we’ll join it. Every prayer, every act of obedience, every stand for righteousness contributes to the wave of awakening God is releasing.
In the end, Designated Disrupter isn’t just about politics or prophecy—it’s about destiny. It’s about recognizing that, like Esther or Daniel, we’ve been placed here for such a time as this.
