Flaming Gnome Studios An independent movie production company based out of Owatonna, Minnesota. Flaming Gnome Studios is a film company based in Owatonna, Minnesota.

We trace our history back to 2006, when future director Ryan Huang coined the studio name with a group of friends to promote a sophomoric comic series. After numerous experimental forays into moviemaking throughout the years, our organization entered a new chapter in 2012 with Ryan Huang's The Root of Evil: a student made, feature-length silent movie. A cast of over 40 high school students clad in 1930's period clothing participated in the two year-long process. Since its completion in May of 2014, the movie, as well as its short film counterpart, has received rave reviews worldwide. In Fall 2014, the studio expanded its main base of operations to Minneapolis, Minnesota.
