There is much to be thankful for in the office, including our Thanksgiving lunch last week!

The Cooksey team enjoyed a festive feast while creating cards for residents in local nursing homes through The Senior Source, a nonprofit that supports older adults with financial guidance, long-term care resources and opportunities to connect through volunteerism.

From all of us at Cooksey, we wish you a restful and happy Thanksgiving. We hope you enjoy an extra helping of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and all your favorite dishes!

Cooksey team members recently attended our client Hillwood Properties unveiling of Landmark, its largest mixed-use development to date!

The unveiling, where Cooksey assisted with media coverage, featured many memorable moments, including the attendance of Ross Perot Jr. and Denton Mayor Gerard Hudspeth, a stunning drone show and custom Landmark beer.

The development honors and enhances the land’s scenery, including Denton’s most recognizable natural landmark, Pilot K**b. Phase One of residential construction will include model homes slated to open in the spring of 2026. The commercial component will bring the first H-E-B to Denton, reflecting the significant impact Landmark will have on the community and region.

Cooksey is honored to have won the PRSA Dallas Pegasus Award in the Public Affairs category for our ”Developing an Effective Informational Campaign for the City of Victoria Venue Tax Election” submission!

Huge congratulations to our Cooksey team for delivering strategic communications to the City of Victoria ahead of the May 2025 Venue Tax Election. The campaign led to a measure being passed by a 2:1 margin to renovate the Victoria Community Center and increase its capacity to host large events.

Our work included campaign branding, press releases, brochures, community meeting marketing assets, social media content and flyers, all of which enabled Victoria to inform its citizens on crucial tax election information ahead of the vote.

Large thanks go to Michael Baselice and Baselice & Associates, Inc. for providing the city with valuable community survey data ahead of the campaign.

Last Friday night, the Cooksey team celebrated some of the region’s most impactful public relations work at the 2025 Worthy Awards hosted by the Greater Fort Worth Chapter of PRSA.

We were honored to receive an Award of Excellence in the Media Relations/Event category for our work on the grand opening of Deco, Southern Land Company’s luxury high-rise apartment in downtown Fort Worth, and an Award of Excellence in the Feature Story/Brand Journalism category for our work on the Dallas Business Journal story highlighting Hillwood Properties Land & Cattle.

Congratulations to all the award winners, including longtime friend of the agency, Dr. Jacqueline Lambiase, who was named the 2025 Communicator of the Year!

The Cooksey team had the pleasure of volunteering with Many Helping Hands Ministry, a nonprofit dedicated to serving individuals experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness in the Irving community. We spent the afternoon preparing and serving meals, connecting with guests and experiencing the compassion that defines this incredible organization.

Many Helping Hands provides nourishment, healthcare, spiritual support, educational opportunities and other vital resources, all aimed at promoting dignity, hope and love.

Last week, Cooksey attended the Texas Municipal League’s (TML) 113th Annual Conference in Fort Worth!

Public Sector Practice leadership members Colby Walton, Jason Meyer, Tom Bryson and Dorothy White met with representatives from municipalities across Texas. The team enjoyed connecting with current clients and introducing new contacts to Cooksey’s wide range of services, including public relations, crisis communications, comprehensive communications assessments and more.

Happy Halloween from Cooksey! Our team went all out this year, from Dancing with the Stars judges (our first-place costume winners) to Philly Karen, Justin Bieber and even Fantasy Football. The creativity did not disappoint.

We celebrated the spooky season with a costume party, delicious pizza, themed desserts and another round of our Cooksey “Mind the Gap” Game: Halloween Edition. It’s always great to see our team bring together fun, teamwork and a little Halloween magic!

The program featured a collaborative roundtable discussion with Chamber leaders from across North Texas at Williams Square, followed by a fireside chat with Ross Perot, Jr. and Beth Bowman at The Constellation Club.
