Hey there Nippon Travelers!
We’re in Enoshima! It’s a wonderful little island that makes for a fantastic day trip from Tokyo. You can also pair it with Kamakura, which we featured in the previous episode.
Enoshima has lots to see, but also a great story behind its creation including a dragon falling in love with a goddess. Also, stick around because in a few days time we’ll release another Enoshima episode all about the food you can eat on this amazing little island!

How to get to Enoshima:

*Shinjuku > Fujisawa (Shonan-Shinjuku Line) for about 50 minutes.
Fujisawa > Katase Enoshima (Enoshima Line) for about 7 minutes.
¥1,150

*Shinagawa > Fujisawa (Ueno-Tokyo Line) for about 40 minutes.
Fujisawa > Katase Enoshima (Enoshima Line) for about 7 minutes.
¥930

For more information about Enoshima checkout the Fujisawa City Tourism website https://www.discover-fujisawa.jp/sightseeing/
And also a big thank you to the Shonan Fujisawa Film Commission for all their help into making this episode.

Happy October Nippon Travelers!
If you want a great nature-y day trip and want to escape from the Tokyo squeeze, then look no further then Tokyo's own Mount Takao!

Mt. Takao sits at the edge of Tokyo's western boarder, and it takes only 50 minutes to get there from Shinjuku station. There's lots of beautiful nature to behold and stunning views aplenty. You can hike your way to the top, or just grab the chairlift. Both offer great experiences. On the spiritual side of things, there's also a pretty expansive temple atop the mountain, Yakuo-in, which has many power spots!
Also, check out the BEER GARDEN!!

To get to Takao:
Take the Keio Line Semi-Special Express for Takaosanguchi from Shinjuku. You can also take the Limited Express bound for Keio-Hachioji, and then change at Kitano for the train to Takaosanguchi.

Regular fee: ¥390
Mt. Takao Discount Ticket: ¥1,390 (inc. round trip Shinjuku-Takosanguchi + round trip chairlift/cablecar)
