🐝 Angelina Jolie's Bold Photoshoot with 60,000 Bees..
In May 2021, Angelina Jolie participated in a striking photoshoot for National Geographic to raise awareness about bee conservation. For 18 minutes, she stood motionless while 60,000 live honeybees covered her body. Before the shoot, she refrained from showering for three days to avoid any scents that might confuse the bees. She was also wiped with pheromones to calm the bees. Remarkably, she didn't get stung during the entire session. Jolie described the experience as "lovely," emphasizing the deep connection she felt with the bees .
🌸 Women for Bees: Empowering Female Beekeepers
Beyond the photoshoot, Jolie has been actively involved in supporting female beekeepers through the Women for Bees program, a collaboration between UNESCO and Guerlain. As the program's "godmother," Jolie has been instrumental in training women from UNESCO-designated biosphere reserves worldwide. The initiative aims to train 50 women over five years, providing them with the skills to become professional beekeepers and entrepreneurs. By 2025, the goal is to establish 2,500 hives, contributing to the repopulation of bee populations and promoting sustainable agriculture .
