Who will come out on top in the California Governor’s race?

The prospect of two Republicans winning the primary has dimmed and Democrats can now vote their conscience rather than the highest polling Democrat to ensure a Democrat advances to the General Election. Republican candidate Chad Bianco will be holding a Town Hall in Tipton tomorrow. Bianco is a proud former member of the Oath Keepers which may resonate with Tulare and Kings County residents, but may not be popular with California’s general voting public. Republican Steve Hilton has taken a substantial lead over Bianco while the Democrat candidates battle it out.

Last day to vote is June 2 so mail your ballot early or drop it off in one of the drop off boxes at the court house or government plaza among other locations.

Is inflation getting you down? In this week’s issue Lisa Lieberman talks with the owners of the newest, hippest restaurant in Tulare County, La Taverna in Three Rivers, to see how they are coping.

Code Control has been inspecting homes for fire hazards and levying fines. Dave Adalian is delving into how Code Enforcement works and how they do listen to the public. In the mean time commercial property owners and home owners need to clear out any overgrowth that is a fire hazard.

Catch up on all the entertainment, health and local news in this week’s issue of the Valley voice coming out tonight!!

UPDATE - KINGS RIVER REOPENED FOR MOTORIZED WATERCRAFT

Kings River in Tulare County Closed to Motorized Watercraft

Due to dangerous water levels and flow, Sheriff Boudreaux has announced the Tulare County portion of the Kings River will be closed to motorized watercraft until further notice.

An assessment of the river showed numerous hazards, including sand bars, tree trunks, logs and wood debris just below the surface of the water in several areas. These unseen hazards make it extremely dangerous for any type of motorized watercraft to safely navigate the Kings River within Tulare County at this time.

Although the river is closed to all motorized watercraft, it remains open to other water recreation, such as swimming or floating. Please use caution and wear a Personal Flotation device when in the water.

TCSO Marine Enforcement Unit will be in the area enforcing the motorized watercraft restrictions.
