A post every day gets Bonnie home! 🐾
Today is Day 285 for this beautiful girl, and Bonnie is officially our longest-term resident. 💔🐾
But 285 days doesn’t define Bonnie—and neither does her shyness.
Bonnie has been making progress, one small step at a time. ❤️ She’s still a shy girl, but she has had multiple outings with her volunteer friends and has done wonderfully! She’s discovered that walks can be pretty great, especially when she gets to take them with her doggie friends. 🐕🐕🦺
With slow, supervised introductions, Bonnie has shown us that she really enjoys the company of other dogs. She’s also proven that once she trusts you, there’s a sweet, happy girl waiting to come out. 🥰
💕 Meet Bonnie
🐶 Age: Around 5 years old
🐾 S*x: Spayed female
⚖️ Weight: Around 45 lbs.
⚡ Energy: Medium-high
Bonnie is looking for a patient adopter who is willing to go at her pace. She isn’t the type of girl who will immediately run up and greet a stranger. She needs time to get to know you and learn that she can trust you.
But once she does…oh, what a sweetheart she is! ❤️
Our staff and volunteers have slowly won her over with treats, walks, and plenty of patience. When Bonnie is comfortable, she LOVES belly rubs and being close to her people. And when she’s feeling playful, you may catch her zooming around the play yard or chasing treats! 😍
🚗 Car rides: Bonnie does well!
🦮 Leash: She’s pretty good!
🐕 Dogs: Bonnie seems to enjoy other dogs, but slow, supervised introductions and meet-and-greets are required.
🐱 Cats: She may do okay with cats. She has walked through the cat rooms without reacting to the cats in their kennels, but this is not a true cat test.
👧 Children: Bonnie seems fearful of small children and would likely do best with no children or older, respectful kids because of her shy/skittish nature.
