Hurricane Melissa is a mean category 5 storm with winds at 160 mph. Jamaica will get a direct hit but it looks to stay away from the lower 48. Due to the extremely powerful storm, It would be wise to keep up to date on it.

Radar update at 1 PM this afternoon. Storms are really coming together to our west. We are in the West TN Studio and ready for what they may bring later this evening! It still looks to be around 7 to 8 pm near the Mississippi River and continues to move through west Tennessee through midnight.....More updates ahead. We should be aware that a few storms are being indicated ahead of the main bulk of storms as early as around 7 pm Saturday evening. A couple of storms in and around the 7 pm time "could" become dangerous supercells. The more concentrated amount of storms will roll through from around 9 pm into early morning Sunday (mainly through around 1 AM Sunday morning). Stay weather aware as we approach Saturday evening.
