This is by far one of my favorite shoots. The lighting, the styling, the overall vibe. And to think I just saw this young man daddy__yonko on IG while scrolling I messaged him saying I liked his style and would love to shoot him. He was apprehensive at first ( as he should be lol) but everything fell into place and he made it to the studio. But that’s not even the best part, the best part is this was all shot on an older Nikon. I used the Nikon D2xs. A camera from 2006 that is 12.4 megapixels. Yet the texture and definition in these images are everything. That sensor renders melanated skin so beautifully. I own the latest Leicas, and LUMIX bodies…. But reaching for the gear that is best suited for the job is something I do. Either way this muse and these images are printed and displayed because they deserve it.

My first roll, let’s call it the test roll through the Mamiya 645 using the Sekor 80 2.8. I used Kodak Porta 160. Film stock. I don’t have a light meter and the prism head attached to my camera is the one without a meter. But, we keep shooting. I think to nail the exposure I want I am investing in a Sekonic meter.
