*Must bring your ID (no copies accepted), proof of income or *Proof of benefits such as food stamps or Medicaid.
We also have a company that helps with SIM cards if you already have a phone. Same qualifications apply.

Breathitt County has been included in the disaster declaration containing Individual Assistance for those impacted by the February 2025 flood event.

We are working to get a disaster recovery center established, but until then, if you are in need of assistance, please refer to the flyer below.

Note: this does not substitute for any case management that you have signed up for through the Breathitt County Long Term Recovery Team, you will still need to be in contact with your case manager.

We are being very specific with our request for donations. The impact we have had this disaster is nowhere near the 2022 flooding. And we want to be mindful with limited resources and so many other counties around us have been impacted much worse. 

WE DO NOT ACCEPT CLOTHING.
We already have a local donor that will be covering any clothing needs.

Please call the Crisis Clean Up number to register for assistance with muck out, tarping needs, mold mitigation, & tree removal.
At this time, we do not have very many cases in the system, and we are coordinating volunteers to work in communities based solely on the information in this database. Please call as soon as possible to let us know what your needs are so we can work on getting volunteers to help .

Fahe is providing a Disaster Impact Needs Survey for residents whose households have been impacted by the recent flooding in KY, WV, VA, or TN. Responses will inform Housing Can’t Wait’s potential recovery housing opportunities. All information provided will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of assisting households affected by the disaster. To fill out the survey, visit https://fahe.org/needs-survey/

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Relief Foundation and Kentucky REALTORS® are providing $150,000 in relief funding to help those whose homes were damaged or destroyed during the recent storms and flooding throughout Kentucky.

Relief funds can be applied toward assistance with mortgage or rental payments, as well as lodging assistance for those who were displaced due to the natural disaster.

Relief assistance is limited to one month of housing expenses up to a maximum of $1,000 per household. Funds are applicable to those who experienced home damage in relation to the State of Emergency declared on February 14th, 2025. The deadline to apply for relief funds is April 30th, 2025.
