Dave Oesterle of Pinckney brought in this steambent maple shell to enlist our help bringing it to fruition after many years on the back burner. He picked up the shell after Gibson quit making the prior round of Radio King reissues and wanted to keep the appearance an a homage to Slingerland.

The silver sparkle wrap was installed with full adhesion and properly blended into the bearing edges. We then did the layout and drilling for eight Slingerland style lugs, an INDe throw off, air vent, and stick-saver type hoops.

Bryant Brown is a steadfast supporter of VIRTUE and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to know him. Yesterday he picked up this TAMA Starclassic Birch-Bubinga Drum Set in “Harvest Dusk Burst” circa 2011. Look for him playing some tasty grooves on this kit, including at the Gospel Fest in Battle Creek this weekend.

Closing the shop means zero revenue for a small business like ours… so whether your needs are big or small, I whole-heartedly appreciate each and every time you choose to fill them with VIRTUE!

Liam Drzewicki visited the shop this week to find the right cymbal to pair with his beloved Agop 30th Anniversary 22” Ride and, after trialing some stellar options, he found it in this fantastic Seifried 22” Micro-Bell Ride (the latest brand of handcrafted cymbals we carry at the shop). Thanks so much to Aaron Piggott for continuing to choose VIRTUE! He recently picked up this used Tama Rockstar Custom in Mahogany Fade circa 2003. Big sizes on this kit including a 14”x12 tom with Star-Cast mount, 18”x16 floor tom, 22”x18 bass drum and 14”x5.5 snare drum, which will work great for his old-school country gigs. Enjoy it, Aaron!
