Once again,The Chamber is proud to offer a program honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The program include words of encouragement, hope, and strength from various leaders in the Jackson community along with a special recital of Dr. King's Drum Major speech, performed by 7th graders from the JPS Middle School at Parkside.

For nearly 60 years, The Jackson Blazer has been telling stories in and throughout our community. Birthed out of the Civil Rights movement, The Blazer has served as the scribe of Jackson, helping bridge our community through the power of storytelling.

Why was Kim Curtis fired from the Jackson School of the Arts, after so many years of successfully providing school for the underprivileged. Their response was to go in a "more progressive direction." But since they couldn't explain what that meant to the Hurst foundation, the foundation asked for it's $150 thousand dollar donation back. They gave the money back and fired Ms Curtis. No one on the board it talking.
