JCWGA concluded a week of Match play at Sharp Park with Andrea Clark winning the Red Championship Flight 3 & 2 over Ashley Bearden.
"I've been playing in this tournament since I was 13", said Andrea Clark. "It's summer and it's fun. I grew up out here, and I like Sharp Park", commented Clark. "I like competing but it's getting more difficult as I get older." Clark, who has won this tournament multiple times, drives the ball beautifully, but it's her short game that she relies on.
For many of the women playing in the JCWGA, winning is secondary to competing and enjoying the presence of their comrades. "It's just an enjoyable time to play with a bunch of wonderful women", said Anne Faucher. "I also love competing and it's an opportunity to challenge yourself."
"This tournament and the JCWGA means friendship, it means competition, and it means fun", said Pam Messerly. Messerly, now 62, has been playing golf for 40 years and enjoys playing several times throughout the week. Pam has a solid golf game, averaging in the mid to low 80's, and she considers driving the ball to be her strength.
