Jackson Vikings prepare for 2021 Abbreviated Season.
For the past couple weeks, the Jackson High School basketball team, as well as others schools, have been limited to conditioning and drills. Monday, February 8 was the first day contact was allowed, giving the hungry for action, young inexperienced 2021 Vikings an opportunity to impress Coach Milton Barnes. "We are young with a lot of potential", said Coach Barnes. "We have speed and we have depth." See the next issue of The Blazer for the season outlook.

A Jackson Legend has Transitioned: The Great Benny Poole

Benny Poole, a great saxophonist whose career as a musician began in the 1940's.

"Jackson has lost a historical figure and a trailblazer unparalleled. He bridged the gap between the white and black community like no one has done before or after. He would connect with the Mayor, Pat Patrick , Les Stanford, Roger Penske and children at the King Center all in the same day, all with the same level of attention. There will never be another Benny Poole, we must keep his memory alive." -(Pastor Lee Hampton, as well as Vice President of Jackson College)

Benny Poole will be missed through and through by the Jackson Community.

What's your thoughts?
In reference to the stimulus check. An unnamed person told me that the Friend of the Court applied their entire stimulus check( $1200) to the balance of their child support. They were already paying monthly and were up to date on their payments. I thought this was unfair. What's your thoughts?

“Hello Sugar Friends”

Below is a video with an update from RJ’s. We’ll miss our “sugar friends “ during this difficult time💕💕

As you may be aware, small businesses are taking a big hit right now due to the global pandemic. During this tough time small businesses nationwide will struggle greatly, and we will lean on one another for support.

Starting this week we will be extending our services to our customers through curb side pickup.

We will be following the news closely over the next series of weeks, but in the meantime we’ll follow the governors recommendations as we close our “Happy Place” until further notice.

Please be safe! We’re wishing you all good health.

((Sugar Hugs))💕💕

P.S.~.We would like to hear from you with suggestions! Tell us how we can service you best during this time.💕💕💕

Suburban Lanes

Suburban Lanes

Suburban Lanes will happily serve you lunch today until 3:00 pm - closing at 3:00 today to follow the ban put forth today.

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday the 16th, we will be open from 11:00 - 7:00 for carryout only. We will have our entire menu available for you as well.

Our bowling facilities as well as our bar will be closed until further notice.

As a small business who is locally family owned and operated we strongly urge you to consider us when you are grabbing lunch or dinner on your route home.

Our gift card sales will still be available as well so you can have a free meal on a rainy fall day! This couldn't have come at a worst time as we were so excited to go into this summer being as busy as we have been but we completely understand the situation at hand and know this is best for all parties involved.

We know our customers will come through and support us through this time. We are excited we have the chance to remain open with confidence and still give you the hot homemade food you have grown to love.

If you do happen to order food from us this week please know that we are so thankful and generous for your order.

Without the communities around us we would never be able to see the positive of this situation but because of YOU we can!

We look forward to seeing you share this post and support our family business. With any questions please do not hesitate to call or message us.

With Gratitude,
Ron and Cindy Daniels, family, and employees.

Why was Kim Curtis fired from the Jackson School of the Arts, after so many years of successfully providing school for the underprivileged. Their response was to go in a "more progressive direction." But since they couldn't explain what that meant to the Hurst foundation, the foundation asked for it's $150 thousand dollar donation back. They gave the money back and fired Ms Curtis. No one on the board it talking.

Thanks for the support at Gus Macker #jacksonmi, The Jackson Blazer! It was a great weekend in Downtown Jackson.
Please please help, we need the contact info of Steve Anderson of Shoreline Improvements based in Jackson. After installing construction sand (Cancerous properties & choking hazards) for our children’s play beach and dangerous patio (on 2 inches of foundation, which flooded after a week) he isn’t responding to our emails/calls (517) 796-0645/301 Brown Street. After he lied about his work but eventually admitted fault, he still owes us thousands of dollars while posting/bragging pictures of himself gambling and getting tattooes on Facebook. We had to scale down our Christmas with our kids due to his work and don’t know what to do. Please help. Bossley Family
