Here's another article that discusses the early recordings in Jackson. I remember Jake talking about doing some recording for Lillan McMurrary's record company (Trumpet). As I recall my dad Jake said she pretty much operated the record company out of the furniture store and her husband ran the furniture store. http://msbluestrail.org/blues-trail-markers/scott-radio-service

This was the same Disk cutter lathe used in the Delta Records Studio. The Lathe was updated in later years which also replaced the cutter head with a newer and better head. This provided cleaner sounding Demo disk. The Mississippi History & Civil Museums which opens on December 9, 2017 has a second Disk cutter lathe from the Delta Records Studio in it's exhibit.

Using a portable Rek-O-Kut record cutting machine / lathe to make a 78 rpm record. More at the 78 rpm Collectors Community: http://www.78rpmcommunity.com
