State Semifinals Bound | Jackson Indian Football
Yesterday was everything that makes high school athletics special. The turnout, the energy, and the atmosphere created by our students and community gave our young men an unforgettable stage to compete on.
Jackson defeated the #1 team in Missouri, the CBC Cadets, 45–42, improving to 12–0 and advancing to the State Semifinals.
This was a true team win. There were countless individuals who made plays, and that’s the beauty of football, it will always be the ultimate team game.
Defensively, the Indians rose to the challenge. CBC entered averaging 56 points and 582 yards per game. Jackson held them to 42 points and 426 yards, including a performance on the ground that defined the day. CBC rushing average entering the game was 361 yards per game at 11.3 yards per carry. The Indian defense held the Cadets to just 64 yards rushing at 2.5 yards per carry, including 5 sacks.
Offensively, Jackson continued to answer in the biggest moments, finishing with 456 yards at 7.6 yards per play.
Championship teams consider it pure joy when facing trials of many kinds, knowing that those tests produce perseverance.
