😳 SOMETIMES THE WORST DAMAGE IS HIDING UNDER THE TIRE.
You can look at a mounted wheel and think, "that's not too bad." Then the tire comes off — and that's when bead damage, cracks, old repairs, and corrosion finally show themselves.
That's why I never promise a wheel is repairable off one photo. Inspection matters. Some wheels can be saved. Some need to be replaced. Knowing the difference is the whole job.

🚨 WHEEL REPAIR MYTH: “IF IT HOLDS AIR, IT'S FINE.”
Nope.
A damaged wheel can sometimes continue holding air even though it has a bend or other damage that needs attention.
Holding air tells you one thing: air isn't escaping fast enough for you to notice.
It doesn't automatically tell you the wheel is straight or undamaged.
That's why I inspect the wheel instead of guessing from how the tire looks sitting in the driveway.

If you say that every week, your tire is trying to tell you something. 😂
Everybody looks for a nail first.
But sometimes the leak isn't coming from the tire.
Damage, corrosion, or problems around the wheel's bead-sealing area can cause a slow air leak that keeps coming back.
And repeatedly driving around on low pressure can eventually damage a perfectly good tire.
If one tire constantly needs air, find the cause instead of feeding it quarters at the gas station forever.

Curb damage can range from a simple scraped lip to damage that needs a closer inspection.
The important part is knowing whether you're dealing with cosmetic damage or something structural.

💸 BEFORE YOU SPEND HUNDREDS ON ANOTHER WHEEL… HAVE YOURS CHECKED.
A bent or cracked aluminum wheel doesn't automatically mean it's trash.
Some damage can be professionally repaired.
Some can't.
That's why I don't diagnose every wheel from a picture or tell somebody, “Yeah, I can fix it,” without inspecting it first.
After 15+ years doing this, I've learned that two wheels that look almost identical in a picture can be completely different once they're inspected.
💰 Repair when it's appropriate. Replace when it isn't.
That's the whole idea.

🚗💥 YOUR CAR SHOULDN’T FEEL LIKE A WASHING MACHINE AT 60 MPH.
If the steering wheel starts shaking once you get up to highway speed, don't automatically assume you just need the tires balanced.
A bent aluminum wheel can cause a vibration that gets worse as speed increases — and a lot of the damage I find is on the inside where the driver never sees it.
I've repaired thousands of wheels that looked perfectly normal from the front.
