Yesterday we had the opportunity to spend time with residents of The Queens Community and the Presidential Hill/Natchez Trace Community.

It was a great evening of meeting neighbors, listening to concerns, sharing conversations, and hearing directly from the people who care deeply about their communities.

Community engagement means being present, listening, and keeping the conversation going.

Thank you to both communities for the warm welcome and for having us participate in the event!

What a great evening of Music & Community at Steamer’s at Freedom Corner!

Our community came together for voter registration, voter mobilization, civic engagement, good food, and real conversations. We also had an opportunity to hear from candidates during the nonpartisan Meet the Candidates Forum and enjoy live music from legendary Mississippi blues guitarist and vocalist Jesse Robinson.

Thank you to everyone who came out, participated, asked questions, registered to vote, and helped make the evening a success. A special thank-you to Steamer’s at Freedom Corner, Jesse Robinson, Mississippi MOVE, the candidates, organizers, and everyone who helped bring the event together.

Strong communities are built by strong leadership at every level of government. From the City Council and County Supervisors to the Mississippi House of Representatives and State Senate, each office plays a vital role in shaping our neighborhoods, supporting economic growth, improving infrastructure, and creating opportunities for future generations.

Leadership begins with service, communication, and a willingness to work together for the common good. By understanding how each level of government serves our community, we can better address the challenges we face and build a brighter future for Jackson.
