WE'RE CALLING ALL BLACK MEN IN MISSISSIPPI!
We, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 stand united in strength, purpose, and solidarity as we look to assemble 1000 Black men in Jackson, MS on 𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐃𝐀𝐘, 𝐒𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝐓𝐇 to march on the MS State Capital.
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒏 𝒂𝒕 1030𝒂𝒎 𝒂𝒕 440 𝑵. 𝑴𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝑺𝒕. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒏 𝒂 𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝑱𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝑺 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍.
It is time that we show that Black men in our communities are indeed prepared to step up as leaders, mentors and protectors. Black men: Fathers, brothers, sons showing accountability and responsibility for what we want our communities to look like. No one is coming to save us. We will save ourselves.
This march will be a powerful, peaceful demonstration to denounce continued inequalities, and the damaging policies and rhetoric of our current state government and current Presidential administration, which has silenced too many Black voices.
We march not only to protest, but to build. To build power, to build unity, and to build a future where Black men in Mississippi are no longer marginalized. Our mission is to awaken political consciousness, restore dignity, and ignite a movement that reclaims our collective strength and our collective neighborhoods.
We are here to mobilize the Black vote — to register, educate, and activate. We look to energize Black voters in every city, town, and county ahead of the next Mississippi gubernatorial election.
We march so that our sons and brothers may inherit a future where justice is more than a promise.
This is a movement.
This is a mission.
This is our moment.
PLEASE KNOW: THIS IS NOT "JUST" A MARCH! IT IS NOT A "ONE OFF" EVENT! THERE IS A PLAN OF ACTION! We are calling on Black men across the entire state of MS to join us. And we welcome anyone of any race or gender who wants to march with us to join.
