Matthew 9:36–38
“At the sight of the crowds, His heart was moved with pity for them, because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for His harvest.’”
This Gospel reminds us of something very close to the heart of Jesus: His deep compassion for the lost and His desire to send shepherds to guide them. That same call is still being spoken today.
At Christ the King, we are blessed with a vibrant community of young people who are growing in faith and learning to listen for the voice of God. Some may one day be called to the priesthood or religious life. Others may be called to holy marriages and lives of joyful discipleship in the world.
As a parish family, we are invited to pray for them.
Let us ask the Lord to bless the youth of Christ the King with clarity, courage, and a deep love for Jesus. Let us pray that they will be open to the unique and beautiful vocation God has planned for each of them. And may we be a parish that supports and encourages these young hearts as they seek His will.
Lord of the harvest, raise up laborers from our own parish family.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, draw our youth close to You.
Mary, Mother of Vocations, pray for them always.
