God tells Moses, “Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground. ”Moses wasn’t in a temple or on a mountaintop. He was just doing his everyday job, watching sheep. And that’s where God showed up. God didn’t ask Moses to be impressive. He just asked him to notice.

Taking off his sandals was a way of stepping into God’s presence with honesty, nothing hidden. Maybe for us, it’s not sandals. Maybe it’s putting the phone down. Turning off the noise. Letting go of whatever is keeping us from being real with God.

Where’s your holy ground today? What might God be asking you to let go of so you can hear Him better?

Matthew 9:36–38

“At the sight of the crowds, His heart was moved with pity for them, because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for His harvest.’”

This Gospel reminds us of something very close to the heart of Jesus: His deep compassion for the lost and His desire to send shepherds to guide them. That same call is still being spoken today.

At Christ the King, we are blessed with a vibrant community of young people who are growing in faith and learning to listen for the voice of God. Some may one day be called to the priesthood or religious life. Others may be called to holy marriages and lives of joyful discipleship in the world.

As a parish family, we are invited to pray for them.

Let us ask the Lord to bless the youth of Christ the King with clarity, courage, and a deep love for Jesus. Let us pray that they will be open to the unique and beautiful vocation God has planned for each of them. And may we be a parish that supports and encourages these young hearts as they seek His will.

Lord of the harvest, raise up laborers from our own parish family.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, draw our youth close to You.
Mary, Mother of Vocations, pray for them always.

🙏 Our hearts ache for the families affected by the devastating floods in Texas. We especially lift up the girls from Camp Mystic who remain unaccounted for. We pray for their safety and peace, and for comfort and strength for their families in this difficult time. May God’s loving presence bring hope even in the darkest moments.

"A woman suffering hemorrhages for twelve years came up behind him
and touched the tassel on his cloak.
She said to herself, ""If only I can touch his cloak, I shall be cured.""
Jesus turned around and saw her, and said,
""Courage, daughter! Your faith has saved you.""
And from that hour the woman was cured."

Courage, daughter. Your faith has saved you.

She did not shout for Jesus. She did not stand in front of Him or ask for a sign. She simply believed that if she could just get close enough to touch the edge of His cloak, that would be enough.

She did not need the spotlight. She did not need the stage. She trusted that Jesus was powerful enough to heal her with something as small as a touch, and she humbled herself to reach for it.

That kind of faith is quiet. It is bold. It says, “I do not need to have it all together. I do not need to be seen or celebrated. I just need Jesus.”

And that is the kind of faith that stops Him in His tracks.

He turned. He saw her. And He spoke directly to her heart. He did not talk about her illness. He did not focus on her past. He called her daughter.

Maybe you feel like you do not have much to give right now. Maybe you are tired or struggling. Maybe you feel unworthy or invisible. But this Gospel reminds us that even the smallest act of faith, offered humbly, is powerful.

You do not need to perform for Jesus. You do not need to prove yourself. You just need to trust Him enough to reach.

Let that truth sink in.

You are not too far gone. You are not too much. You are not forgotten. Jesus sees the quiet faith in your heart. He sees the way you keep reaching even when it hurts.

And He is not far.

He turns to you. He calls you daughter. He calls you son. He calls you healed.

Trust that even the smallest bit of Him is enough to heal the deepest part of you.

Reach for Him today. Even if all you can do is whisper His name.

That is enough.

Come celebrate Fr. Ben's first mass! Potluck dinner following mass.
July 7th, 6:30pm at the parish!

The Servants of the Home of the Mother serve our youth in so many different ways. Fr Carl is parochial vicar at the parish, Br. Greggy serves in our youth ministry, and fathers Peter and Ben are chaplains for Bishop Kenny and Bishop Snyder.

We hope to see you there!
