🐊 WHAT. WAS. I. THINKING?!?!?! 😳😂

Let me take y’all back a few years…

My older brother talked me into doing something that, looking back, I’m pretty sure was a terrible life decision. 🤣

Picture this…

The Okefenokee Swamp. 🌿🐊

And me…

Walking across a tiny, FLOATING walkway made from basically a few 2x4s…

WITH HUGE 13-FOOT ALLIGATORS lurking in the water on BOTH SIDES OF US. 😳😳😳

Yep.

You read that right.

THIRTEEN. FOOT. ALLIGATORS. 🐊🐊🐊

And for some reason, my younger self thought:

“Well… my big brother is here, so I must be safe!” 😂

Apparently, having your big brother beside you temporarily turns off your survival instincts. 🤦‍♀️🤣

But let me tell you something…

The entire time I was walking across that little floating death trap, my brain was SCREAMING:

“WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?!?!?!”

“WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?!?!?!”

“WHAT HAPPENS IF I FALL?!?!?!” 😳😂

Meanwhile, those enormous gators were just sitting there looking at us like…

👁️👄👁️
“Interesting…” 🐊🤣

I have ALWAYS had this weird relationship with alligators.

I absolutely LOVE them.

I think they are beautiful, powerful, fascinating and honestly one of the most majestic creatures out there. 🐊❤️

BUT…

I also have a very healthy understanding of what those giant jaws are capable of! 😳😂

So WHY I willingly stepped onto a few pieces of lumber floating through a swamp FULL OF GIANT PREDATORS is something I still cannot explain to this day.

😂😂😂

Somehow…

I SURVIVED.

And now I can look back and laugh about it.

But if someone came up to me today and said:

“Hey! Wanna walk across a couple of 2x4s through the swamp with 13-foot gators swimming beside you?”

I would simply say:

“NOPE. I HAVE LEARNED THINGS.” 😂😂😂🐊

Apparently, younger me had ZERO COMMON SENSE and WAY TOO MUCH FAITH IN HER BIG BROTHER. 🤣❤️

But honestly…

I’m glad I did it.

Because now I have one CRAZY story, one unforgettable memory with my brother, and a whole lot of respect for the Okefenokee and the incredible creatures that call it home. 🐊❤️🌿

Good morning, y’all! ☀️💚

Today I’m at pain management getting a lidocaine/steroid injection right in the ONE spot that loves to give me the most trouble — the middle of my left side! 😩💉

I’m really hoping this helps take the edge off and gives me a little relief. 🙏 Because when you live with chronic pain, even a little relief feels like a BIG win! 💚

And hey… it’s worth a shot! 😂💉
Yep… pun absolutely intended! 🤣

I’ve learned that sometimes you have to laugh through the hard moments. Jokes are one of the ways I get through the tough days. ❤️‍🩹
