UNF Student Government senator and student athlete Serenity Miller recently visited the White House, where she met President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump during the signing of the “Fostering the Future for American Children and Families” executive order. ⁠

Miller, a former foster youth herself, has leveraged her experiences within the foster care system and her work with non-profits such as Florida Youth SHINE and Think Of Us, to excel academically and athletically.⁠

The University of North Florida held an event on Wednesday morning to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new apartment complex for students. ⁠
⁠
The complex, called 30° North, will be built next to The Flats at UNF on First Coast Tech Parkway. Set to open in Fall 2027, the apartments will offer a total of 702 beds for UNF students.⁠

Lend-A-Wing, UNF’s campus food pantry, raised over $11,000 from its Food for Fines initiative, a partnership with Parking and Transportation Services that donated revenue from parking fines to the student food pantry.⁠

From Oct. 20 to Oct. 25, all funds from paid parking tickets went to the pantry. The funds covered “the cost of food for about two to three weeks for the pantry,” according to Lend-A-Wing Assistant Director Madison Smith.⁠

We will have 6–7 food trucks offering a variety of cultural cuisines from around the world. Students can also enjoy a custom hat station, where a local vendor will be painting hats on-site. We’re excited to welcome partner guests from the American College of Greece, and students who complete their event passport by collecting stamps from each vendor will be entered into a raffle to win a study abroad scholarship!
