🎙️ New Podcast Episode Alert: Outlive Your Life 🎙️

While many are looking to open an assisted living business, there are plenty of opportunities to WORK in the industry to see if you like it BEFORE investing time and a boat load of money into it.😏

On the second podcast in our network, I interviewed my AMAZING former Sale & Marketing Manager who came from the nonprofit sector into the senior living industry.

As a "newbie", he did what many proclaimed to be the impossible and completely filled a "lease up" newly constructed Memory Care community within ONE YEAR!

He was my FIRST hire as a new Regional!!!

AND, it was for a MAJOR new development where ALL EYES were on this project watching and waiting for it to fail. 😏

YOU KNOW THAT WAS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN ON MY WATCH!

In this episode, we discuss his journey into senior living after surviving cancer. His story is a testament to the power of resilience, adaptability, and seizing opportunities when they arise.

SIDE NOTE: This was my FIRST interview as a new podcaster in 2020 and testing new software I knew nothing about...

So forgive any weird stuff...LOL.

But, I hope you enjoy it. Here are a few of the takeaways:

What am I up to??? 🤔

I’m finally coming up for air after a busy season in my life…😨…whew…I can breathe…

You too will have many busy seasons as an owner/operator business owner or professional in the senior care industry…

Especially in Senior Living/Assisted Living 👵🏽👴🏼

The key 🔑 is to prioritize the tasks and manage your capacity to fulfill them…and…get help when needed.😰

Don’t forget the self care part as well❤️‍🩹…take some time to quiet the voices around you

AND those that are also in your head. 🙄

I thank GOD for my tribe and amazing clients who have been patient and helped me to stay sane while managing ALL THE THINGS 😬

The pic is worn. Tired. Old. 🕰️

But the feelings it conjures up it timeless.

I can still remember this day many, many, many, maaaaany moons ago 🥺

As the ONLY grandchild for most of my young adult life, I was blessed to have a deep personal relationship with my grandparents.

My grandpa gave me my first job (pulling weeds in a winter outfit during the HOT summers)🥵

He owned a landscaping business and didn’t want the bugs to bite my “pretty legs and arms”🥰

I also went with him on several occasions to his night job as a janitor at the Public Library. I am sure that is why books excite me to this day.🤓

But the one thing he had very little words to discuss was the horrors of war.

When I probed him about his stint in WWII, he just would say, “it is something you don’t want to relive”😔

After coming home and starting a family, my grandpa NEVER traveled or would fly on an airplane again. He said he had seen all he needed to see.

In my time in senior living, I’ve had the honor of meeting many veterans. Some with amazing stories. Others were more like my grandpa. I could see in their eyes the horror…yet, the pride they exhibited to be able to serve their country.

On this day, I honor and thank ALL veterans. But especially, my grandpa and Mr. James (a 3 time war vet).

Happy Veteran’s Day to all ❤️

This is the basics of business…

1. Identify a problem (people feet hurt after standing & jumping in heels for 3 hours)

2. Find a solution (they will need footwear to ease their pain asap afterwards)

3. Create awareness (stand at the exits with their solution upfront and center to see)

4. Implement a sales process (choice of color and size in an easy to pay method

5. Execute an impactful customer experience (shared on social media)

All I can say is: Brilliant 💡

What is your takeaway?

Mine is: there are creative people everywhere 😂😂😂
