Here's a little project I'm working on friends. It's going to get bigger and the station's name will change, but Jacksonville's home of the blues has found a new home and more.

Fans of the show. You may notice there is no show tomorrow morning.

As I mentioned several months ago, the show needed more support. Unfortunately, that did not happen. We are now off the air. However, do not despair. I'm working on the next life of "The Sunday Morning Blues Brunch" that you all may be able to hear great blues just about any hour of the day. It just won't be on 107.1FM from now on.

Thank you to Holly Cakes Bakery for being the OG sponsor of the show from the very beginning. Thank you all for listening, supporting, and sending music to the show. Don't worry, it's still going to get out to the masses in Jacksonville - just maybe not in the traditional sense. I hate to tease, but I'm working hard behind the scenes. Hang tight blues fans. The next life is not too far away.

Thanks for listening - Ben "The Harpman"

Hey Blues Friends, Sunny Bleau visited Jacksonville earlier this summer at Pizza Records and she's working to get new music to you. Drop some dollars to the effort and it'll get you a pre-order of the new album that's getting some help from Mick Kolassa and Endless Blues Records down in Memphis.

I'm excited to see what Sunny and The Moons come up with for us!

It's a year since the last album, time to go back to the studio & we need your help getting there! | Check out 'Sunny Bleau and The Moons: Passion and Regrets' on Indiegogo.

I got 3 favorite living guitar players in the world right now. To me, they are the best as far as taste, tone, collaboration, and musicality. Just love listening to them play. I'm betting some of you have never heard them unless you've tuned into my show.

Well, one of them is the featured artist on the show this week. The amazing Sue Foley !

Tune in Sunday from 7-9AM.

Ok everyone! Please help us Pack the Pantry!! Anytime between now and the end of August, if you bring in 2 nonperishable items to Holly Cakes, you can pick out a cookie, cupcake, or cakepop! If you bring 7-10 items you will get 10 % off your purchase and get entered into a drawing for a $100 gift certificate!! I will draw the name at the beginning of September! Look for these posters in participating downtown businesses and ask what fun deals they have in exchange for nonperishable goods! Thanks Jacksonville!! Now let's do this!!!

Hello West Central IL Blues Fans,

It's with a heavy heart that I have to write this - but this is both a plea and a notice.

I'm not sure how much longer the Sunday Morning Blues Brunch is going to stay on terrestrial radio.

I currently work over 60 hours a week in the news department at WEAI. It takes a lot out of me personally. 12-16 hour days 5 days a week or more. That's a long time away from my family.

I love the show and I enjoy bringing it to you. Sunday is just an extra day though I have to be away from home during the week. The show is a labor of love. I don't make any money from it. In fact, I've paid out of pocket for several of the songs on the show both to get them to you and to support the artists.

I'm thankful for the support that I've received from the very beginning from my OG sponsor Holly Cakes Bakery. Holly listens to and loves the show. I've heard more than once from her how people have come in to visit her business because they've listened. I've always heard from people saying they like "hearing something different on the radio" on Sundays. I'm glad you tune in early on Sundays. I know that's a bit to ask some of us.

Thank you to all of the musicians out there who have sent me music and supported the show or given me CDs. I'll continue to try to find a way to get it to people somehow - it just might be from the comforts of my home vs. the airwaves.

I guess the plea is this - if you like the show and want it to stay and own a business or know somebody who does - you got to sponsor it. Holly Cakes Bakery shouldn't have to carry the load alone. I've got 4 local commercial breaks during the show. The commercial breaks are 3 1/2 minutes - that's a lot of 30 second ad spaces if you want to get in on helping the show out.

This music has broken my heart and crushed my soul over the last 10 years. I've had a lot of buddy-buddy friends through it who have passed out of my life like ships in the night because there wasn't anything left of me to benefit them. I've given up on being a musician because of a lack of support and refuse to play anymore. This show is my one last outlet for you all to hear the blues and soul in West Central Illinois - a place where this music has touched but never been fully appreciated or even heard to its fullest before. It truly is something unique, different, but very much a part of the bedrock of all music you hear each day.

I don't know how to better express myself. I truly am tired and I don't know any other way but to ask the question: Do you all want to listen? If so, I gotta have some help.

Thanks for listening to his old harpman moan the blues a bit as I plot my next move - Ben "The Harpman" Cox, 107.1 The Eagle's Sunday Morning Blues Brunch Host.
