Last week I joined several panels to talk about the state of digital communications — and why now, more than ever, how we communicate matters.

A big thank you to the amazing teams whose leadership brought us together:

- Callan Brown and the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida for hosting Collaboration & Connection in the Digital Age with Nan Kavanaugh (Wingard), Jerail Fennell (Noted Marketing), and the always wonderful moderator, Issis Alvarez.

- Kaylee Exum and the UNF PRSSA team for leading a thoughtful, student-led conversation with fellow panelists UNF Professor Dr. Wendy Gillis and Catherine Cavallo of the Jacksonville Sharks about the future of communications and the impact of AI on our field.

It was inspiring to hear everyone’s personal and career stories — and to share with participants that no path is linear, but we all found our way. Our field keeps evolving, and there’s a strong demand for communicators who understand storytelling, strategy, and purpose.

The future of community starts with one conversation. 🎙️ 🗣️

Hosted by OneJax, Breaking Bread and Barriers brought people together to explore how social media, artificial intelligence, and digital communication are shaping the way we connect with one another.

Across the table, participants shared different stories and perspectives, challenging ideas, and finding common ground.

At its heart, the event asked one powerful question— how can we use tech to bring us together, not pull us apart? 🤝

What can you do to make our digital world better? Book a call today to discuss.

As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we’re celebrating the leaders whose work continues to strengthen our communities every day.

The 2nd Annual Latinos Unidos Festival was a powerful reminder of how passion and leadership shape a more connected Jacksonville. Among this year’s honorees was Dra. Andrea Reyes, recipient of the Inspiration Award. Andrea is an attorney and co-founder of the Northeast Florida Immigrant Resource Alliance (NEFIRA), where she empowers immigrant families through advocacy, education, and access to vital resources.

We’re proud to stand alongside changemakers who lead with heart and help make our communities stronger.

As we wrap up Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re reflecting on the people, stories, and experiences that continue to inspire our team year-round.

Today, we’re spotlighting Daissy Linares, our Senior Design Mentor. Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Daissy brings over 20 years of experience in Branding, UX Research, and UI Design. Her creativity and commitment to mentorship remind us that heritage isn’t just about where we come from—it’s about how we uplift others and build a legacy together.
