"The locally well-known megachurch founded in Jacksonville, Florida, is said to be taking on a new mission. Eleven22 has bought the infamous Emerson strip club, Wacko’s, and is re-envisioning its potential. Soon the building will be teaching gentlemen rather than attracting them.

Gone are the LED lights and sc****ly clad women. The church plans to turn the building into a K-12 Christian academy. The new business venture was confirmed June 1 of this year when teachers began receiving job offers from the church. “When I looked up the address, it kept coming up as Wacko’s and I was like, that can't be right,” said a Duval County teacher. However, it was right."

"Language is a tool employed by humans to communicate, but in the modern age, the CEOs and tech bros have weaponized language to turn a profit. The people who own the platforms that many depend on to socially connect or stay informed have their own quotas to hit. Therefore, these sites adopted a method, which has been prevalent in the news for years … using intense words to garner views.

For the news, article titles have to grab attention so that people will click and read. For social media, the first three seconds of a video have to jolt the viewer out of a scrolling daze to stay on a video. All of this is done through extremist language, not necessarily in the form of left versus right, but in our subconscious need for preservation. Words like “death,” “crisis” and “a whole civilization will die tonight” are methods to attain and maintain attention. Why? Because attention means redirection to sell."

"Magic Kingdom agrees to build a towering, khaki-panted, platform-booted, governor monument to regain free speech rights — Mickey ears required.

Following a yearslong legal battle over corporate expression, the Walt Disney Co. and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a historic settlement Wednesday, granting the theme park full rights to use the word "gay" provided they construct a massive, 11-foot bronze effigy of the governor directly blocking the view of Cinderella’s Castle."

"In African American communities, Juneteenth is a largely celebrated holiday where heritage and culture are recognized and applauded. Traditionally, celebrations are through parades, music, barbeques and dancing. With this excitement and freedom, comes education.

June 19 serves to inform others of generational struggles from the past. Acknowledgement and awareness of what Juneteenth is and why it is celebrated are a vital part of celebrating the holiday. Many partake in educational events, along with the traditional celebrations. Even though victory is celebrated, it is important to highlight the current state of ongoing change and fight for equality."
