Around the Crown 10K weekend reminded me that race weekends are about so much more than the race itself.
from the carb load dinners, to the the “WAIT YOU’RE HERE TOO?!” moments, and getting to spend an entire weekend surrounded by people who look like me, run like me, and just get it.
i think that’s what makes ATC so special to me. it’s not necessarily the course that keeps bringing me back…it’s my people. (especially Mad Miles Run Club ) it’s the feeling of being seen, supported, and celebrated.
race weekends like this remind me why representation in running matters and why I show up the way I do.
because sometimes you don’t realize how much you needed to see people who look like you until you’re finally surrounded by them🤎
