🚪Hidden on Bourbon Alley sits one of Jacksonville’s most unique historic homes.
We had the chance to tour this home during a previous Riverside Avondale Preservation Home Tour, and it’s unlike almost anything else in the neighborhood.
🌍 Built in 1940, it was designed in the International Style, a modern architectural movement that was sweeping Europe and America at the time.
While many Riverside homes featured front porches, decorative details, and traditional styles like Craftsman, Tudor, and Mediterranean Revival, this home embraced a futuristic design that was decades ahead of its time.
🔹 Instead of decorative details and traditional designs, this home embraced curved walls, smooth stucco, and clean lines.
🔹 It originally had a flat roof, giving it a futuristic look that was decades ahead of its time.
📍 Today, it remains one of the most distinctive homes in Riverside, a neighborhood known for its historic architecture, walkable streets, local businesses, and unique character.
