A total eclipse of the sunflower field. ☀️🌑🌻

The Moon passed between the Sun and Earth on Aug. 12, 2026, creating a total solar eclipse visible across parts of Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, the Atlantic Ocean, Spain, and Portugal.

This composite image captures the eclipse's progression over a field of sunflowers in San Millan de los Caballeros, Spain. During totality, the Moon completely blocked out the Sun, briefly revealing the Sun's outer atmosphere, or corona.
