A FREE toddler adventure day in downtown Jacksonville! 🚝🛝🍭📚🌿

We’ve been wanting to explore more of Jacksonville with Theo, so today we made a little adventure out of it & spent $0 on activities! 🐞🌈

First stop: Friendship Fountain Park 🌊🛝
We parked nearby & let Theo play at the new playground before walking along the Southbank Riverwalk toward the Skyway station.

Then came the highlight… the Jacksonville Skyway! 🚝
We hopped on at San Marco Station and rode the Skyway across the river toward downtown. And the best part? The Skyway is FREE! So this was basically a free monorail ride for our toddler, which he absolutely loved.

We got off downtown near James Weldon Johnson Park, then walked over to Sweet Pete’s 🍭. Even if you don’t buy anything, the candy shop itself is such a fun little place to explore with kids!

From there, we took a short stroll over to the Jacksonville Public Library downtown 📚, where we spent some time in the children’s area exploring, looking at books, & enjoying a quiet little break from all the walking.

Then we made our way back to the Skyway & rode it back across the river to San Marco before walking back to our car. 🚝

Our entire day was FREE aside from anything we chose to buy at Sweet Pete’s. No admission, no playground fees, & no cost for the Skyway. 🤍

Honestly, I love finding little adventures like this close to home. You don’t always need an expensive activity or a big day trip to make a toddler feel like they had the BEST day. Sometimes all they need is a playground, a train ride, a little candy shop, some books, and time with mom. 🥹

Jacksonville finally has a REVOLVING SUSHI BAR 🍣🤖✨ We tried Nara Sushi in Ponte Vedra and it was SO much fun! Sushi literally comes around on a conveyor belt and they even have robots delivering your food to the table 😂🍣 Such a fun new spot for a date night or family outing!
