Who gets to teach tennis?

Flush with cash after selling the Cincinnati Open to billionaire (and WTA dad) Ben Navarro for a few hundred million dollars, the USTA is turning its attention to the people who make tennis happen for everyone else: Coaches.

USTA Coaching CEO Craig Morris and Managing Director Megan Rose are trying to reframe coaching around parents, after-school caregivers, PE teachers and those new to the sport who need some help. After all, as Rose says, “Not everyone is Richard Williams.”

A new tennis project in Accra blends cutting-edge architecture with ancient building methods to create a harmonious space for tennis.

Paid for and run by , the Ghanaian artist whose portraits grace museums worldwide, the .accra attracts some of Accra’s most promising junior players. American-born architect Glenn DeRoche and his namesake designed the compound, which houses changing rooms, an open-air kitchen, and a 230-square meter sustenance garden with medicinal plants and fruit trees.
