Dennis didn't sit still for long! Go visit the museum in downtown Jamestown and support this wonderful part of Chautauqua County history! Who Was Lucile M. Wright?Over her career, she logged approximately 8,000 flight hours, piloted seven personal aircraft, and flew nearly five million miles on commercial airlines. During World War II, she was the only woman courier pilot in Western New York serving under the Civil Air Patrol—transporting machine parts and personnel for the war effort. In Jamestown, she became the first woman to serve on the airport commission, later chairing it for nearly a decade and leading key improvements to the municipal airport. Her efforts also extended into advocacy, lobbying for aviation legislation and promoting scholarships in aviation for students.
