Big Announcement! Charles has just started up a piano tuning business! It’s been very difficult to find someone to tune your piano in the Jamestown area these days. So now I am available to help fill this need.

Many years ago I studied piano tuning privately for a summer, but didn’t keep it up at that time. So now I has decided to make piano tuning part of the Johnson Music Studio.

For the past year I have been studying through the Apex Piano Technicians Network with Eric Michael Roberts. I have also been getting one-on-one instruction through my friend Eric Pareis - a lifelong piano technician who studied at Chautauqua Institution School of Piano Tuning with Arthur Briggs. Right now I am offering piano tunings, pitch raises, and basic regulations.

If you or someone you know is in need of a tuning, please don’t hesitate to reach out or pass along my info. I'm excited to support our music community in this new way and truly appreciate your encouragement and referrals.

Of course, I’ll continue offering piano lessons as usual and now I can also help make sure your piano is in good condition for practice and performance.

We are very excited to open up our new music studio space next week! Our new lesson space is on the Northside of Jamestown and we have been fixing it up all summer. It is now very close to being complete and we are looking forward to opening it up to all of our students this fall. We will post some pictures of the completed space this weekend. Looking for something to this weekend, don’t miss this wonderful concert of choral music! 🎵

JOIN US FOR OUR SUMMER CONCERT!

Enjoy the beauty of a ca****la choral music at it finest! The Lake Erie Choral Artists will perform their summer concert on SATURDAY, JUNE 22nd at CHRIST FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Jamestown, NY and SUNDAY, JUNE 23rd at ST PAUL EPISCOPAL CATHEDRAL in Erie, PA. Both concerts begin a 4:00 pm. The concerts are free to the public and donations are requested at the door.
The stylistically varied program features madrigals, motets, partsongs, modern compositions, and artful arrangements of spirituals and modern popular tunes whose time periods span from the 16th century through the present time. You can expect to hear standard choral favorites as well as a World Premiere performance of a newly composed confection sung to the poetry of American poet Sara Teasdale. There is ample parking at both locations and handicap-friendly entrances.
