***Update at 1245 hrs ***

The male suspect has been taken into custody and the minor child is safe. More information to come regarding the incident. Shelter in place is being lifted.

Previously. Jamestown Police and James-Valley Special Operations Team are continuing to work an active scene inside Western Park Village. The shelter in place advisory is still active and we are asking the public to continue to avoid the area.

Jamestown Police and James-Valley Special Operations Team are continuing to work an active scene inside Western Park Village. The shelter in place advisory is still active and we are asking the public to continue to avoid the area.

At approximately 2am, Jamestown Police were dispatched to investigate a domestic violence incident. Upon investigation, it is alledged the suspect made terroristic threats toward another person. Officers tried to make contact with the suspect, but he refused and barricaded himself inside a room of a residence. He also took a 2 year old child with him and he remains held up inside the residence. It is believed he has access to fi****ms in his current location. Police have been negotiating with the suspect for a while, but he is refusing to comply with police requests.

The Jamestown Police Department and James-Valley Special Operations Team are working an active incident in the area of Western Park Village. We are asking the residents of WPV to shelter in place at this time. The area is shut down to traffic and we are asking for people to avoid the area.
