Celebrating a milestone today 💪
When we released American Crit II, we didn't know what to expect. At that time, part 1 had garnered about 50,000 views in a little over a year.
We thought we'd be happy if the sequel got to 100,000.
Well, today ACII passed 150,000 views in less than one year since its release. 😱😀❤️🙌
I can't tell you how much this means to me. But even more important than the number of views has been the overwhelmingly positive response and the hundreds of amazing and heartwarming comments and messages people have sent.
From old school crit racers reliving their glory days through our film, to those looking for inspiration for their first race, and everyone in between - thank you.
Making a film like that with our tiny team of two, and a microscopic budget, all while holding down a demanding full-time job wasn't easy. Frankly, it was the hardest thing I've ever done.
But every single comment or message letting us know what the film meant to you, how it inspired you, or how it helped you get through the pandemic made all the difference.
A few more "thank you's" while I'm here.
Thank you Neal Zeleznak for all of your help, feedback, motivation, companionship, dope shots and downright hard physical labor.
Thank you, Steve M. Cullen and the rest of the ButcherBox Cycling team for providing something truly captivating at which to point our cameras and microphones.
And finally, thank you to USA CRITS for giving us all the access we needed and for providing some of your own race footage from the races we couldn't get to ourselves.
I'm currently working on a film I shot with Project Echelon Racing Team at Intelligentsia ln 2019. There's still a lot of editing work and a few more interviews I have to shoot before it's finished. I'm excited about it. They're a bunch of good guys doing good work for veterans, not to mention one hell of a race team, and I'm trying to make a movie that's worthy of their commitment to our sport and to their cause.
And after that, who knows. ACIII, anyone?
Cheers,
Szymon
