📢 Clarification on the Walmart in Jarrell Rumors

There has been a lot of chatter — and quite a bit of misinformation — about a potential Super Walmart coming to Jarrell. It’s important that we separate fact from rumor so our community can have an informed discussion.

Before you decide whether you do or don’t support a Super Walmart in Jarrell, make sure you’re basing your opinion on the correct information — not speculation.

Together, let’s stay informed, engaged, and focused on what’s best for our community.

A big **thank you** to everyone who came out to the workshop yesterday! The turnout was amazing, and it’s clear that the majority of Jarrell residents are excited about bringing Walmart to the proposed location.

We also want to clear up a few things that have been said:

1. **No land is being taken from anyone.** Jacqueline Allison, daughter of F.B. Schwertner, is choosing to sell her property to Walmart.
2. **The family had the chance to buy the land.** They decided not to make an offer.
3. **This land.** F.B. Schwertner bought it back in 1962 from Harrison/Sybert family. A backup contract is already in place, so the land will be sold one way or another.
4. **Nobody is being forced out.** Families near the site can stay on their properties for as long as they’d like.
5. **Concerns are being addressed.** Walmart’s engineers are working on traffic, drainage, and environmental studies to meet all city, county, and state requirements.
6. **Growth is already here.** Just look south to see all the new buildings going up.
7. **And more is coming.** Check out the map below showing developments that have already been approved for our area.

• Help maintain accurate records and follow-ups with prospects and clients.

Jarrell and Sonterra — big conversations are happening about a possible Super Walmart in Jarrell.

Walmart Representatives are hosting a community meeting to share the FACTS directly with you—so you can hear it straight from them, ask questions, and get clarity about what this project could mean for our community.

🚧 Sonterra Boulevard Construction 🚧

📅 Beginning September 10th at 9:00am, the intersection of Sonterra Boulevard at the IH-35 NB Frontage Road will be closed for construction.

⛔ Thru access will be completely closed, and a short detour will be posted using nearby streets at Limestone Terrace and Quarry Rim Drive, maintaining access both to and from Sonterra Boulevard and IH-35 Frontage Road.

🍔🍗🍟 Access to local businesses (McDonald’s, Golden, Chick, Sonic, and the Flying J truck stop) will be maintained via Sonterra Boulevard from the east.

🛠️ The closure will remain in place until construction is sufficiently completed — anticipated 6 weeks.

Our community is growing in exciting ways, and there’s talk of a Super Walmart and a data center making their way here. Both would bring new jobs, added convenience, and major boosts to sales and property tax revenue — helping fund local services and strengthen our community’s future.

County Commissioner Russ Boles says, “The Sonterra Boulevard project will reconstruct the intersection and add a dedicated turn lane.”

Thank you Commissioner Boles for seeing to it that our tires no longer come off our cars or get stuck when turning onto Sonterra Boulevard!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Permanent pothole repairs are officially on the way for Sonterra Blvd! 🙌 It’s going to be a huge relief not having to dodge those craters every time we turn onto the road.

Thanks to County Commissioner Russ Boles for hearing our concerns — smoother drives are just around the corner! 🚗💨
