Today is the day. The Parklands will close early to begin staging for the controlled burn. If you plan to visit today, have your vehicle out of the parking area and leave the park no later than 1:30pm. The Jasper Fire Department and Jasper Park and Rec Department will be bringing in equipment to begin preparations for the 2:30pm start. Check this page for updates on when the park will reopen.

The Jasper Street Department will close E. 8th Street between McCrillus St. and Fairview Ave. for a storm sewer replacement on Wednesday, September 10th starting at 8:00AM.

Barring any unforeseen issues, the street should reopen by 4:00PM the same day. Motorists may use Fairview Ave. and E. 12th Street as a detour.

It’s time for Huntingburg’s Fall Cleanup Days! Residents can drop off unwanted items at 1103 E 1st Street on Thursday, October 9 and Friday, October 10 from 1:00–7:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 11 from 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. The cost is $5 per car, $15 per truck or small trailer (under 8 ft.), and $25 for larger trailers. Additional fees apply for certain items such as mattresses ($12), upholstered chairs ($10), couches ($15), and tires ($5–$20 depending on size). Small loose items must be placed in trash bags, which are $2 each. Please note that electronics, construction debris, and items with Freon (without certification) cannot be accepted. Fall Cleanup Days are open to Huntingburg residents only—be sure to bring a utility bill and ID. For more information, contact City Hall at (812) 683-2211.
