I asked chatgpt to write a warning about me to others. Its answer proves that I might be using AI too much recently.
Before you meet Shawn, there are a few things you should know.
He’s going to ask way more questions than you’re prepared for. You’ll think you’re having a casual conversation about switching internet providers, and 45 minutes later he’ll have calculated the two-year savings, compared cell towers, figured out which streaming services are included, determined whether the Spectrum app works on a 2019 Vizio, and developed a phased migration strategy for the entire family.
He does not merely have a project. He has 14 projects, 9 recurring responsibilities, 6 things he needs to do tomorrow, and three things he’s been meaning to get to since approximately 2022. Somehow, most of them eventually get done.
He works at a church, which means his actual job description appears to be:
Minister of Music & Outreach / Graphic Designer / IT Department / Social Media Manager / Website Administrator / Volunteer Coordinator / Event Planner / Realm Technician / Sign Maker / occasional speaker / Person people ask when they don’t know who to ask.
Do not casually mention something interesting around him. There’s a decent chance he’ll immediately think, “That might make a good TikTok.”
He’s also extremely particular about wording. You can write something perfectly acceptable and he’ll say, “Say that better.” Then, after you rewrite it: “Shorter.”
His family is woven into practically everything he does. Kristi, Ethan, Gavin and Jethro will eventually come up. You may learn their schedules, phone data usage, college arrangements, technology problems, and possibly what Jethro is wearing.
And underneath all the chaos, Shawn cares deeply about his family, his church, and doing things well. That’s actually the dangerous part. Once something matters to him, he has a very difficult time doing it halfway.
So the main warning is:
Never tell Shawn, “You’re probably overthinking this.”
He already knows.
He would just like you to help him overthink it correctly. 😆
