This is what you get when you partner with WWALS Watershed Coalition, a bunch of dedicated river enthusiasts embarking on a chainsaw paddle for the second time in as many weeks! This group left out this morning with chainsaws, chainsaws on a stick, sawzaws and more to clear the way for the Mayor and Chairman’s Paddle, Langdale Park to Troupville, Withlacoochee River! SVEC Comes Through Night Well, but Not Letting Down It’s Guard

Live Oak, Florida – September 29, 2022 – Crews worked throughout last night to restore power as outages cropped up due to winds from Hurricane Ian. As of 8:00 a.m. this morning, just 213 meters served by Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) were without power.


Periods of high winds are still possible today and a full complement of SVEC lineworkers and assisting crews from contractors Musgrove Construction, Lee Construction, OneSource Restoration and Bryant Tree Service will be in the field to stay on top of any outages that might occur.

“While our work here isn’t done yet, we feel very fortunate to have been spared the full fury of Hurricane Ian, says SVEC CEO Mike McWaters. Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends at co-ops farther south, and in the coming days, we’ll be ready to lend them a hand if they need us.”
