Our Story
The Jena Times Olla-Tullos-Urania Signal celebrated its 100th anniversary on March 23, 2005, after completing 100 years of service; thus, it is said to be the oldest continuously operated business in LaSalle Parish.
During the past years, the paper has grown and now ranks as one of the largest weekly newspapers serving a trade territory of its size. It has also been an award winning newspaper during these years, with numerous plaques and other awards lining the walls of the office in recognition of outstanding service.
The newspaper adopted a slogan, "Dedicated to the Progress and Growth of LaSalle Parish," in 1968, and it remains loyal to that slogan today as it begins its second century of operation.
Thus, older than the parish it serves, The Jena Times Olla-Tullos-Urania Signal is proud to serve the citizens of LaSalle Parish and the success the newspaper has enjoyed is due directly to the support from LaSalle Parish businesses and citizens.
The Jena Times Olla-Tullos-Urania Signal is the official journal of LaSalle Parish.
