The Jena Times Olla-Tullos-Urania Signal A weekly newspaper dedicated to the progress and growth of LaSalle Parish. The Jena Times Olla-Tullos-Urania Signal is the official journal of LaSalle Parish.

The Jena Times Olla-Tullos-Urania Signal celebrated its 100th anniversary on March 23, 2005, after completing 100 years of service; thus, it is said to be the oldest continuously operated business in LaSalle Parish. During the past years, the paper has grown and now ranks as one of the largest weekly newspapers serving a trade territory of its size. It has also been an award winning newspaper duri

ng these years, with numerous plaques and other awards lining the walls of the office in recognition of outstanding service. The newspaper adopted a slogan, "Dedicated to the Progress and Growth of LaSalle Parish," in 1968, and it remains loyal to that slogan today as it begins its second century of operation. Thus, older than the parish it serves, The Jena Times Olla-Tullos-Urania Signal is proud to serve the citizens of LaSalle Parish and the success the newspaper has enjoyed is due directly to the support from LaSalle Parish businesses and citizens.

Many in LaSalle Parish can't make the trip to New Orleans for the Jena Giants state championship game tomorrow at 3:30 PM, but that doesn't mean you can't watch the game.

The Town of Jena’s annual nighttime Christmas Parade has been moved to next Friday, in light of the Jena Giants football team winning their semifinal game last Friday and will travel to New Orleans this Friday to play for a state championship.

Jena Mayor LaDawn C. Edwards has issued a call for all Jena Giants fans to line First Street (LA 127) tomorrow for a special "Jena Giants Road to the Dome Send Off Celebration."
The Giants' buses will leave Jena High School at 11 AM, Thursday, DEC 11, headed for New Orleans and fans are asked to line the street to cheer them as they began their historic journey.
The buses will travel south on LA 127 from East High School Drive. Fans are asked to line the highway.
Jena will play Sterlington Friday, DEC 12, at 3:30 PM at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans for the Div III Non-Select State Championship.

Children of all ages throughout LaSalle Parish have been busy during the first full week of December as they prepare for Christmas.
Throughout the parish, houses are decorated inside and out, LaSalle’s four towns are brightened with decorations and Christmas events are being held from schools to churches to public squares as the countdown to Christmas Day is underway.
